No apology from staff, we’ll see to you soon etc. some of us actually have things to do and jobs to get to. We’re not getting paid to just stand about in Speedy Hire…

   Phoned on Thursday 31/08 to hire a cement mixer, was quoted £50, £25 for the hire and £25 for delivery. Was asked to pay £170 deposit which was fine. First mixer they sent out the belt snapped after one mix, second mixer they sent out didn't work at all and cut out as soon as you tried to move it to tip it out so it had to be replaced. Lost out on two days work on account of this. Phoned up to have my deposit refunded and was refunded £63 of my £170 deposit, by my maths it should have been £120. Turns out the delivery charge doesn't include uplift, which is another £25 and they had charged me two days extra on account of them not picking the mixer up over the weekend. Oh and by the way, they don't quote vat on their prices and stick it on at the end without telling you. Was told £50, ended up paying £120 without being given an invoice/receipt once. Phoned up and the depot manager Craig's input? "Am no sure wit you want me to dae". No bother Craig.

   Not impressed. The guy behind the counter said the item I wanted wasn't right, which in fact it was. Suggested another piece of equipment which wouldn't have done the job. Went to a more helpful local company and got the job done.
