Great location for Musselburgh, easy access to Edinburgh and surrounding areas of East and Midlothian, however the rooms are tired and the room I slept in was smelly (stale cigarettes and an overwhelming aroma of cleaning products). Despite the smell of cleaning products, there was areas that were covered in cobwebs / dust and spiders. The window didn’t seem to close properly, noise form the nearby city bypass was noticeable and the curtain were blowing because air was getting in. The air vent seemed closed but the window was a little wobbly where the latch was - which was likely why it wasn’t closing properly. It had paint over the lock sections - strange why there was paint on the frames and latches. The staff are helpful / polite though but the hotel is a bit worn, run down and needs new windows as it is near a bypass. Though I have stayed in this hotel before and it faced the back fields and I couldn’t hear the bypass so it probably depends which section of the hotel you’re in. I wouldn’t return. I stayed for convenience but I’d rather pay double and go elsewhere.

Arrived at 2pm. The room was ready but we weren't allowed in to it until 3pm unless we paid a further £15! I understand payment to book early entry, to ensure room is ready, but I don't understand why we were denied entry when the room was ready. Dreadful customer service. Then much of the menu in the restaurant was not available! The whole place is run down, not at all our usual experience with Premier Inn, and quite shocking on the edge of the tourist hot spot of Edinburgh. Or is it that people will come anyway so there is no need to make an effort? I suggest you avoid.

Not worth the money we paid, sadly. Lady on front desk was lovely and very helpful, had tried to call us re the restaurant being closed. Unfortunately we didn't get this (not her fault) and were very disappointed not to eat, had to get a takeaway (no cutlery except for the room's teaspoons!) Rooms smelt awful, very damp, black mould in bathroom, airless and tired bedroom, ripped bedding. Not the standard of Premier Inn we've been used to!

Had a great time here! Everything was great as expected. Only downside is that getting a Taxi might take a little, so if you are in a hurry plan for some extra minutes. The staff is realy helpful with this. Breakfast was also good! Nothing too fancy but there are enough options to please everyone

Just returning home from a night here with my partner and 2 disabled children absolutely shattered. Very disappointed with the noise levels from the person above. We complained to the staff and they did apologise. Totally ruined our trip and definitely won't be returning. Always booked with Premier inn as your promised a good night's sleep. Never had a problem in any other stays elsewhere with them. This Premier in is a very dated so its probably why you here footsteps and banging from other rooms.

I had stopped at many Premier Inns due to work however this one really does stand out, I was greeted by a member of staff called Amy who could not do enough to help me and was genially happy to help. The second night I was helped by a member of staff called Becky which again displayed the same values as the first staff member Amy. These two members of staff are a credit to your team and I really hope this review meets them eventually. The room was also very clean and tidy and again much tidier than other premier inns I have stayed at. The on site restaurant is also really nice and the food is nice and also well priced. Again the staff in the restaurant were lovely and very accommodating. If I had some minor pointers it would be in the room I stayed in the wall mounted heater was coming away from the wall, And also when I was in the restaurant eating breakfast I noticed that the tray with glasses on was very dirty and sticky which made the glasses stick to the tray. All in all I have been very satisfied with my stay and will continue to use this hotel when staying in Edinburgh in the future.

While room was comfortable enough it was pretty sparse as far as little extras go. There was usual tea or coffee but no biscuits etc. The bathroom had a constant leak from extraction fan, which was in process of being repaired apparently and again only basic hand & shower gel supplied. I have used this venue a number of times previously and they appear to be on a cost cutting cycle. Breakfast and service were good however.

After 2 really bad experiences with more “upmarket” hotels, we were pleasantly surprised. This is a great place to stay and leaves the others far behind. Friendly staff, clean room with comfortable bed with nice new mattress and spotless bathroom. Dinner and breakfast were superb with good tasty choices. Remarkable for a budget hotel, would certainly recommend.

Any Premier Inns I have stayed at are always spotless and fresh. Wondered why we had bluebottles in our room? We opened the window to get them out but you can only open it ever so slightly. Also a musty smell unpleasant smell like men in digs.I worked in a hotel and the rooms had that same smell when riggers stayed there. We went for cooked breakfast at 9 the eggs were like Frisbees. Hard as old Nick.Beans cold. The shower was fine bathroom spotless. It's not to the standard I usually experience in a Premier Inn.Staff were friendly though. The rest
