35 min drive fron rom Edinburgh Waverly station. Property is big size and comfortable for 20 peoples having 8 couples bed rooms and 6 single rooms. Good kitchan size with full facility. Big size dining area and drawing ara so enjoyed family get together. Not have dishwasher pods hence we weren't used and did manual diswashing.
I emailed before to check that there was somewhere to store my bicycle and I was told there was. On arrival, there was no safe location to lock my bike . I put my bike in the office room but the 'manager' arrive and said it had to be moved. So my bike was moved to the garage. The problem was that I couldn't get into the garage to get my bike out and when we were leaving on the Sunday, I could get my bike out so I was stuck phoning the 'manager' reminding him that he had locked my bike in the garage. Basically just a party house, nothing special not a great location
This place is a con. Paid for a room, only to find that the hotel was full, with no one there, and no one ever answered the phone number they left. They have since blocked my number and haven't responded to my emails. I will be reporting them to Trading Standards or another appropriate agency.
This property is a scam. The operator collects your funds in advance and moves you over to another property on Bridge Street above the Domino's and dog groomer on short notice before your stay is to begin. The substitute property is nothing like you see in the pics of St. Martin's House. AVOID!! This was one of the most unsatisfying lodgings I've had the displeasure of staying at, to the point that I moved out after the first night of what was booked for two nights. Room issues: No one on-site to let you in and electronic entry into the property can be difficult. The room I was told I would be staying in was occupied by another guest when I arrived, so the housekeeper assigned me to another room without an ensuite bathroom. There was no heat in the room upon arrival. Poorly fitted windows meant every sound from the main street below made sleeping a difficult task. I packed up my things after the first night and moved into a proper hotel in Edinburgh for the rest of my stay in the area. Never again.
The owner double booked our group of 14 guests with another group. He claimed this is Airbnb fault but from the other reviews this has been happening for a long time and is clearly just trying to find a way to make more money. Apart from that, the heater was not working in any of the second floor rooms. In the middle of January almost everyone was freezing all night due to the rooms being about 16 degrees. The next day we asked the owner to please fix this and he said he came by and checked and that heater was working now. That was a lie, rooms were just as cold as night before, we had to go buy room heaters. Definitely avoid this location!
The owners of this house have the same mobile number as a house in Edinburgh City centre I was scammed out of last Novmeber, stood at the door freezing for ages trying to get in contact with them but no answer even to this day, be wary folks, the other house also had good "reviews"
I can’t recommend this house enough. We were highly impressed with the property. Highly clean, comfortable and extremely beautiful. If you are looking for a breathtaking accommodation for a large group of people, don’t hesitate to book this one. You will love it. There is 100% privacy and you will have the house just for yourself. There is also a patio where you can have barbecue. All the rooms have private bathroom which is extremely clean. I will definitely book again here.
Absolutely beautiful house with lovely comfy beds and large fully equipped kitchen. Also large living room and dining room. Nice and clean and the decor is lovely and modern.
We had a fabulous week at St Martins House! The picture's really don't do it justice and it is a fantastic house for a large group of people. It is also in a great location and we loved hopping on the bus into Edinburgh City centre, swimming in the local pool and visiting a beautiful beach nearby. I would highly recommend this place. We were lucky enough to stay in the 'big' room and the huge bed and bifolding windows that stretched nearly the whole length of the wall did not dissapoint! The Projector room was also a massive hit with the kids and the adults. The kitchen was great for cooking for lots of people and a good place to relax in the evening. We had a wonderful week here and we would definitely come back again.
We booked St Martin's house very last minute due to our booking at another house falling through the day of departure. So we were all upset as you can imagine, and had no idea what the house was going to be like. When we arrived at St martins house, everything changed. What an amazing space it is. The house is finished to an incredibly high standard and the space for all guests is perfect. The kids absolutely loved the massive projector in the living room, as did the adults. The kitchen is a perfect size and a great place to chat and be at night. We were the first guests after the renovation, so there were still a few things that the owner wanted to add to the house, he told us whilst we were there. The owner lives next door and he was amazing, so accommodating and really lovely. Arthur, the agent was on hand for any problems and also really accommodating. They expected us to treat the house as our own whilst we were there and made us feel incredibly welcome. It was truly a gorgeous place and a great location to see more beautiful spots in Scotland. We would love to go back when the additional bits are finished to make full use of the gorgeous space again. Honestly, we loved it so much. Thanks for saving our week!!
