   Tried to book coach transfer to Southampton Port online for a cruise. When I got to the final stage a message came up telling me that online booking was not possible for the cruise in question, but to call Intercruises for availability. Tried on several occasions but gave up in the end. Phone lines are either engaged or get disconnected. There is even a recorded message saying not to bother calling on a Monday! Poor.

   Yesterday, 20SEP, Saturday, we were treated to a very enjoyable walking tour of Stornoway, Scotland by Janis Brand, WITGA. Our cruise booked tour tour thru Intercruises, but I think Janis is more immediately engaged with either WITGA, or “Outer Hebrides Tourist Information Stornoway” (OR, those two groups may even be one and the same organization, but with different names. Not sure.) Inanycase, I just wanted to tell SOMEONE that Janis is a very good, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide/booster for Stornoway. My wife and I had gone into town that morning and explored on our own a little, but, to be frank, we were left a little unimpressed by the Stornoway we could find. But later, during her tour, Janis was able to bring the history of Stornoway alive with stories of the Herring Girls, Alexander MacKenzie, that fellow who sailed with Shackleton TWICE, and of course, the execrable Mr. Matheson. It was rainy and a little cold, and windy as well, but Janis made our day.

   On 28th September 2024 my wife and I disembarked the P&O Ventura following a wonderful cruise around the Canary Islands. Unfortunately our return coach to Newcastle had broken down and it soon became apparent we were facing a few hours wait within the departure lounge. Throughout the lengthy delay the staff from Intercruises were absolutely brilliant in terms of keeping all passengers informed and well fed. I would particularly like to mention Tracy ( I believe that was her name ), this lovely lady helped coordinate the entire operation in ensuring all Newcastle passengers were made comfortable. Once again, Intercruises, great job, well done an we look forward to seeing you all next year.

   A love of cruising and living in an area with poor transport links is problematic to say the least. Rail travel is next to impossible whilst carrying several pieces of luggage. That is where Intercruises, brilliantly, services people in our predicament. Travelling from Carlisle to Southampton is made the easier by the use of executive coaches, helpful and pleasant drivers and, importantly, well planned regular comfort breaks. Nothing is too much trouble. My wife and I, recently, experienced difficulties with catching our return coach home. In fact we missed our connection by one week due to illness. After informing the company of our status, to avoid delays to passengers and coach. Almost out of the blue we received a phone call in BARBADOS informing us we could use our original booking for a return to Cumbria should we wish to. Of course we accepted. How many companies provide customer services of this quality. Well done Intercruises. Our patronage is a GIVEN.
