I am so appreciative of the treatment I had today. I am visiting family in Glasgow and the infected toe I thought was getting better suddenly started getting worse. The staff I saw were fabulous and I am so thankful to you all.
Got my Xrays done today by a 2nd year radiography student called Joseph assisted by a more senior radiographer and he was great, really kind and patient, despite me forgetting my right from my left when positioning my limbs. He had a great bedside manner which is really important for medical staff and he got the images needed in a timely manner.
Lovely staff and efficient care. Obviously it's busy but it's 2024 in the NHS, so be real. Top tip: call 111 first and have a virtual assessment so you can skip the triage queue (the longest bit)
My daughter who is autistic injured her knee 2 weeks ago. She found it hard to walk on it. She went down to the hospital last night, to be told this waste a GP visit it was them that sent her there. The nurse who saw her asked her what expected her to do. She the told my daughter what her job was all about . my daughter explained that she was autistic my daughter said she wasn't so cheeky when she heard that. Friday night wanted home early. Who cares Certainly not that nurse.
I arrived and was called within 15 minutes, treated and sent home within the hour, thank you Nhs xxx
Refused treatment from cheeky condescending nurse in empty clinic who said only deal with slips trips and falls. Raced to Boots pharmacy at closing time and given antibiotics by pharmacist for badly infected insect bite. He said it was too risky to leave untreated til I could be seen by out of hours GP service and to also monitor closely overnight as may need further treatment. Disgraceful behaviour from the clinic.
Be prepared for a long wait if you go 1st thing, was close to about 2 hours to be seen. Reception staff are friendly and the nursing staff are excellent, was seen, x-rayed, given appropriate drugs and dressing and advice on how to care for my wound. Couldn't ask for any more and the wait is understandable given the strain the service is under.
The staff are very skilled, kind and quick. 2 surgeons arrived 5 mins after the nurses assessed that surgery was required. The day surgery is arranged in 2 days time.
