   I took an overdose and ended up in Leverndale Hospital after seeing psychiatrist Dr Cheema at Arndale, an extremely narcissistic man. As another has said...Arndale is shockingly bad. Psychiatrist Dr Bhindra saw me once, only asked, how are you? No medication review, nothing about my diagnosis or symptoms, no proper mental health review, her only other question was, 'Are you religious?' (Completely unethical and unprofessional) I answered no...still i was told I should go to the church, joing fb church groups and go to the woman's tea group...at the church, I said no, i was immediately discharged and my diagnosis of 16 years removed...I had a very good psychiatrist previously elsewhere... suddenly I had no mental health team or support but still on medication. I put in a complaint through People's Advisory and Support Service and the Ombudsman... all they could do was get me a second opinion at the same place. This week (June 2025) I saw Dr Cheema psychiatrist...the worst most narcissistic person I have ever met in medical society! As others have said my symptoms were dismissed as if nothing...extreme low mood, extreme lack of motivation, no pleasure in activities, social withdrawal, lack of concentration, amongst others, I gave clear examples of how this affected my daily life, I had all my symptoms typed, letter from a mental health group I go to and a letter from when I tried to see a private psychiatrist at The Edinburgh Practice who said they couldn't see me as I needed ongoing NHS care...everything ignored by Dr Cheema... all my symptoms were dismissed as either nothing or normal...' lots of people have low motivation, you have low self-esteem' and he shrugged his shoulders...extreme symptoms that a normal person would be able to grasp dismissed as low self-esteem...i had to tell extremely sensitive information to a man that completely lacks empathy and who sat scowling at everything I said. He refused to provide me with a diagnosis, even though i am on medication...ask me why i wanted a diagnosis and looked at me as if i was stupid for asking then said most people don't want a diagnosis...he totally gaslit me at every turn...next day, after seeing him, i took an overdose and ended up in hospital, only then did i find out i had been put back with their mental health team..but i was never informed of this...i doubt very much their mental health team are any better than the psychiatrists...i had called to speak to a duty nurse after Dr Bhindra discharged me, as i was worried that my medication would be stopped, i was told i was no longer under their care, i insisted to speak with someone...the head duty nurse spoke with me...after i told him what had happened with Dr Bhindra he thought i was on to complain and became very aggressive and i burst into tears. As others have said this place needs to be investigated and shut down, it is exacerbating vulnerable people's poor mental health. I need proper, adequate mental health care, this place does not provide it, I seriously need away from here.

   Psychiatrist diagnosed me with key symptom of eupd and chose to ignore all the other symptoms i present saying it’s emotional dysrelagation feel not listened to so forced to have to get a second opinion

   Unknowledgable on simple things that can be googled. 4 years and never once met my consultant? 4 years and mental health continues to worsen. Offered Gabapentin for anxiety? A lethal drug not prescribed for anxiety in first place. I'm so scunnerered right now, I'd suggest it's bull dozed down.

   The staff and service at the Arndale Resource Centre were excellent. I went for a psychiatric ADHD appointment for shared care. I was concerned as had heard that they are unlikely to support adult ADHD diagnosis. This could not be further from the truth. The doctor spent time with me going through my diagnosis and medication requirements. The appointment didn’t feel rushed or pressured and I was instantly put at ease. The financial constraints that these services are under are immense but I could not tell from my treatment. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because the waiting room was too small to have that many mentally ill patients in at once.

   Assessed for ADHD but no ADHD assessment tools utilised by the psychiatrist. GMC and Psychiatry codes of conduct not adhered to. A 20 minute conversation which resulted in a very poorly written letter which is full of inaccurate information, misquoting me repeatedly, got the ages, occupations, circumstances, conditions and even etiology of relatives wrong, as well as repeatedly misquoting me. Her report demonstrated zero degrees of empathy or dignified problem solving. I suspect the psychiatrist herself might have racial bias issues as she ONLY picked up on and wrote in her report of the negative issues in my family and omitted any of the good, for example, I have two brothers who have ADHD, one of them sadly has addiction problems (I mentioned that he was hugely talented musically and could pick up any instrument and play it within 20 minutes - she omitted that and just mentioned that he had addiction problems, I also said I thought he was the most intelligent in the family but the most disabled, she wrote that I'd said that of myself), the other is a professor in a major international University, the psychiatrist commented on the sibling with addiction and in failing to note the sibling who is a professor, her wording paints a picture of the family as wholly dysfunctional and bad rather than struggling in a society with oppressive racial, gender, class systemic and cultural failings, but then, as a 'psychiatrist' she's part of that system. If it were the 1850's her report might be acceptable, but in 2024 it's not. It's an abuse of power because the misinformation in her report, if presented to someone who doesn't know me or my family, would be entirely misinformed. It's also factually incorrect. I do not know whether her repeated misrepresentation and factual inaccuracies are because she herself is massively overworked, she told me she sees 45 people a week for ADHD assessments and only 5 of them actually have ADHD. If her workload is too great that could effect her own cognitive functioning and thus she'd be unable to capture information correctly and, with that level of referral have little time for writing reports within the GMC and psychiatry codes of conduct. However, as an unemployed person on 4k a year and a psychiatrist on 40k+ a year If her working conditions are untenable then she has a duty to report those and or join a Union and go on strike, as other Dr's have done. It is not ok to keep working if your work is of a quality that is causing more harm than good. If it is not that she is over-worked then it can only be that she maliciously writes reports misrepresenting those referred to her that she either has an ethnic bias against or who, for whatever reason, she just doesn't like. Which is it Arndale? As I saw a psychiatrist in 2019 for ADHD and her report was also as badly written then it would suggest that Arndale are overworked, under -resourced, which is ironic as it's called a resource centre. However, the GMC standards and psychiatry codes of conduct make it clear that quality and standards are the responsibility of the psychiatrists, not their unemployed, distressed, marginalised subjects. I am happy to support any NHS staff who needs to go on strike or take action against the echelons above them who are driving standards down, but I absolutely won't tolerate psychiatrists mis-using tax payers money and metering out abysmal service and healthcare provision.

   Shockingly bad. Place is extremely poorly signposted. Staff don't seem to understand basic levels of humanity, compassion or respect for the vulnerable folk that end up there. After having a great experience in a different city I'm left feeling like I'm doomed to non existent help courtesy of the post code lottery.
