I came across these reviews by accident and was genuinely surprised by the negative comments. Having had four generations of my family registered with Westfield over 50 years I can attest to their competence and commitment. My own doctor there is exceptionally kind and supportive and I am happy to give the practice five stars. M Barnes.
Had an appointment today and the receptionist left me waiting in the rooms for an hour. After approaching the front desk they informed me that the Dr couldn't see me the could call me on the phone. Unfortunately I have a chest infection and wanted the Dr to listen to my breathing and do an examination cause he hurts when I cough. If I had not gotten up and approached the front desk I could have been sitting there for 2 or 3hrs without being notified. I this is just unacceptable.
Firstly my Dr is absolutely amazing, when you finally get an appointment! However the policy of zero empathy, compassion, care, or understanding by the the receptionist staff when trying to get an appointment is intolerable, even after multiple hospital admissions and surgery's. No to mention leaving the practice in an ambulance, due to the pain endured!!!
Receptionists act like gate keepers. Give unqualified medical advice that's dangerous. Receptionists also lie and then tell you they didn't even though you have proof. Would advise that it could be counterproductive and detrimental to your health to join this surgery.
Receptionist staff lie, but I have a witness so I will be taking it further. Dr hoy also gave my mum a prescription with another patients name and address, breaching GDPR, which I will also have to complain about to the ombudsman.
Have always found the practice good, even during very busy times and especially throughout the pandemic. The front of house staff are very approachable and helpful. Every GP I've seen has been kind and supportive. The only negative is the telephone system for an appointment, it's very busy, very quickly. However, this isn't unique to Westfield; it's been the norm at every GP practice I've been with since around 2010.
