We really enjoyed our 1 night stay! Even though our room wasn't ready at 3:30pm, the check-in across the road was smooth and the kind woman at the reception was very helpful. The room was very clean, and a nice mix between traditional room and a modern bathroom. Great water pressure on the shower, very comfy mattress, nice weight to the blanket, and a decent sized TV. Can't ask for much more! Overall very pleasant stay.

We stayed for 1 night in Glasgow and the Argyll guest house met our expectations . The bus stop is 1' walk from the guest house and the centre is approximately 15' by bus. The room was clean and so beautiful! The curtains and pillows were in kilt colours and gave a "Scottish" vibe in the room. The breakfast was included and although it was really rich, I didn't like it. The staff was kind and helpful. The only negative thing is the lack of soundproofing. We could hear everything from the other rooms and the steps from the corridors upstairs!

The rooms are what you pay for (under ยฃ100 per night). The rooms could be cleaner, dirty capets, there were some moldy spots in bathroom. Several bars are just across the street, so quite noisy in the evening. The breakfast was fine.

I booked my stay at the Argyll Guest House, Glasgow, through Booking.com, having previously enjoyed a pleasant experience in 2022. However, my recent stay turned out quite disappointing. I checked in very late at night, and the reception staff were extremely welcoming. They clearly asked my preferred breakfast time, informing me the latest available slot was at 9:30 am, to which I agreed. My name was visibly written next to the 9:30 am slot. The following morning, at exactly 9:30 am, I entered the breakfast area and was warmly greeted by a gentleman who served me coffee and invited me to the buffet. As I approached the buffet, however, a woman abruptly entered and spoke in a manner difficult to understand. It quickly became clear that she was asking me to leave immediately because "breakfast finished." The gentleman serving attempted to intervene politely but was repeatedly cut off and unable to assist further. Feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable, I left the breakfast area and immediately voiced my complaint to the reception. While the receptionist patiently listened, there has been no follow-up or resolution offered. Firstly, I strongly suggest the management invest in better staff training, as the incident appeared to show that this staff member was bullying not just myself but also her colleagues. Secondly, the overall experience was shockingly poor, and this treatment of guests is completely unacceptable. I expected better standards from the Argyll Guest House based on my previous positive stay, but unfortunately, this incident greatly diminished my impression.

We booked for two nights and we didnโ€™t stay the second night because the beds were awful. The first room they gave us was prison like (see photos). We asked that our room be switched. The next room had high ceiling but the beds turned out to be awful. One bed which my wife slept on, allowed one to feel every spring as they jabbed into her body. She ended up sleeping on the dirty dated carpet. The other mattress just sunk in the middle. We had to leave so that we could catch up on sleep elsewhere. Also the room is hot. It cooled down in the evening outside but not inside the room. Thereโ€™s a bar next door and you can hear the patrons and the local traffic. After midnight it gets quieter. The positives, the location and the coffee at breakfast. The place is cleaned but there is a yucky feeling you get because of stains and the dated atmosphere. Also it was not cheap when we went, we just saw decent ratings that are not deserved.

Great location. Comfy beds, clean rooms. We stayed over the road from main guest house. Everything was brilliant. Breakfast included in the price which was cheap for location. Will definitely return

The twin room was very warm and comfortable with a nice en suite. Absolutely spotless and reasonably priced. It is in a great location, not too far from the city centre. Book in at the hotel across the road and ask about the parking vouchers they have available.

Very clean and tidy. Staff were excellent. Would have liked staff to provide the toast alongside the tea and coffees. It was self service and people pushed past to use the toaster and wanted to put toast in twice as it didnโ€™t brown well. Other than that very happy with stay and plenty buses and places to eat.

Lovely room, spacious no complaints, separate bathroom with a really nice shower, definitely what I needed after a day travelling, all the usual facilities tea and coffee, hair dryer etc, staff were very pleasant and breakfast was great, the price was also a complete bargain ยฃ46 on a Friday

Only really used it for a place to sleep as we were out exploring most of the time. Close to local convenience stores, a large park and public transport to get you in and out of the city center. Breakfast was okay, buffet style with hot food, cereal, fruit salad and yogurt but couldn't see any normal fruit but sure they probably would've been able to provide if asked. The building itself was nice and warm which was great for when you had been out all day and got a chill. Overall a very nice place to stay!
