Wonderful place to stay. We had a room with twin beds and our own shower and toilet. There is so much history in the area. The staff was very pleasant. We added on breakfast - cereal, toast, juice, yogurt, coffee and tea.

There is no way this is a four star hotel. It’s a youth stay away camp lodging. It’s filthy, smelly, and should be investigated by the health department. The windows are rotting out of their frames, and can’t be opened due to swollen sills — the water damage is so extensive. There’s an alarm that goes off if you open the room door for more than three seconds. The showers are stainless steel. The wall to wall carpet is coming up and god knows what’s underneath. There are holes in the walls. Did I mention the whole place smells like high schoolers’ feet? The water in the taps is labeled undrinkable. There was half a cup of tea in our room when we arrived, and the desk attendant said “oh yeah, that happens sometimes.” The views are beautiful. Shame the interior should be condemned.

An extremely expensive stay, with not even the basics thrown in. No shampoo, shower gel, towels, TV or a fan or air conditioning in the room. The room was baking. The window was visibly falling apart, with wood on the bottom of the window crumbling off. It was rotten. The shower was extremely noisy. Breakfast was a ripoff and a cooked breakfast wasn't even provided for the price. The positives - friendly staff, a strong shower and in a great location. You can stay in much better hotels or B&Bs for the same price and get more. I'd only stay here again if there wasn't another option.

A great welcome by the staff who are regularly at the reception during core hours. The kitchen is brilliant and exceptionally well-equipped; the adjoining lounge is homely. The room was a little at the expensive end although cheap for Stirling; the bed was exceptionally narrow and not that comfortable. I could not switch off the radiator despite numerous attempts. The toilet had not been cleaned properly and there was a strong scent of urine in there. Nice view of the jail.

It’s very ascetic, but if a bed (and ensuite shower/bathroom) is all you need the place does its job. The location is excellent as well, and the building itself is historical. You get what you pay for, which isn’t much! There’s not much to choose from in Stirling and this was a decent place, so I can recommend.

Nice place to stay, rooms were decent and the showers nice and hot. The self catering area was nicely stocked, most of the stuff was clean, and the staff friendly. Nice location in Stirling, and very close to the castle. Would definitely recommend!

I booked a room in advance, called to confirm the day before and I was told yeah everything is all good. Turned up and it was under a different first name, I was put in a dorm and charged for a private room and all the private rooms had now been sold/occupied. That being said, the woman the was on the desk was amazing, got me sorted into an alternative room despite them being fully booked/sold out.

Great location for the castle and train station for other cities. Rooms are basic and clean. Showers are good and well kept. Kitchen needs a bit more regular attention to keep it clean and bins empty. Some noise from sqweeky floorboards and banging doors but generally it's quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Great location. Staff nice and gave us better room with excellent view (see picture). Check in is kind of late and bed not comfy. Winter blanket on bed would be good to sleep on for cushion on hard mattess then just bring your own top blanket.
