This was our 3rd stay at this flat. An excellent holiday property in Milngavie, which is really well maintained, clean, cosy, quiet and could not be better situated for exploring the West Highland Way. Shops and takeaways are close by, and it is a 3 minute walk from the railway station, which has direct trains to and from Glasgow.
Superb apartment in Milngavie, ideal for exploring the local area or for accessing the West Highland Way. The apartments are very comfortable and just a short walk away from Milngavie’s amenities and the start of the WHW. We have stayed at the Lomond on several occasions since 2019 and if you’re lucky to find it available, I’m sure you will not be disappointed. The owner Alistair and his team couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful.
Perfect location for Highlands way, beautiful accommodation, everything accommodated for, worth every penny. Alistair very helpful and knowledgeable on routes etc, thankyou. Highly recommend!
Review The Lomond from our experience (two adults) coming from Perth, Australia, long stay 3 weeks in July/August 2025. All amenities needed for a long stays, cozy and comfortable with enough space for a family of four. Exemplary prompt customer service from the host when required. Prime location in the safe. quant friendly town (a no car zone) is one bonus that grabbed our attention to the accomodation. Inside the flat two toilets and showers this is a must for us, four single beds, living/kitchen area. Sound proof is good, within the bedroom. Lined curtains, dark room if you wish for quiet and darkness in main bedroom at the back. We loved everything!; I highly recommend The Lomond for its cozy clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet atmosphere and pretty decor. A big thumbs up!
We enjoyed our stay at the Nevis. It was really clean, comfortable, nicely furnished and appointed. It was great to have a washing machine and drying rack available too. The apartment is in a great location, above a small village pedestrian mall, which was quiet at night, and a short walk to the train station and West Highland Way. The only slight annoyance for us was that the rooms are behind doors that you have to prop open if you want to move between them - for example from the kitchen to the dining room. Great for keeping the heat in, but it would be nice to have the option of latching them open when you need to move between them carrying stuff. Just a minor thing though and would definitely stay again. Our hosts also provided lots of helpful information on getting to the apartment and things to do nearby. Thanks Shona and Alistair
Was a super pleasant experience to discover this little town close to Glasgow. The apartment is perfect for visiting the main attractions of Milngavie. The flat was super clean, with excellent stuff for cooking, and with a good living room to have a beautiful moment. The communication with Alistair was super fast and flexible with our requirements. I recommend this apartment.
Stayed in the Lomond Apartment in Sept at the start of my WHW adventure with 3 others. The apartment is excellently appointed, has a cool kitchen with relevant utensils etc, the beds were super comfortable and the whole place had an adorable ambiance. The lounge was a nice place to relax with an enormous TV. Alistair & Shona were very quick to respond to all correspondence & were helpful. I wouldn't hesitate in staying again should I find myself in Milngavie.
We had an amazing stay at the Lomond in late September 2019. The apartment is beautifully clean, stylishly decorated and includes everything you need for a short or long stay. Alistair is a great host and very responsive to any questions. We live in Canada, but my wife was born in Scotland and grew up in Milngavie so we visit frequently and know the area well. This apartment is perfectly located in the village and is a great vantage point for people watching. We will definitely be back!
Stayed in the apartment for 3 days and found it to be incredibly warm and homely with beautiful period features and plenty of space. It was also completely secure, well equipped, and perfectly located in the centre of Milngavie. Although the flat itself doesn’t come with parking, there is a well lit 24hr public car park just behind the property, and the car could clearly be seen from the bedroom window. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay in these apartments again when in Milngavie. I won’t even bother to look at other options. There’s no need. This is a really comfortable flat with helpful and responsive hosts, and an excellent location within the village. All of this made this for a really enjoyable stay. Money well spent! Will definitely be back!
We had an excellent stay in the west highland apartment. We were very comfortable and really impressed with the quality of the fixtures and fittings. (Amazing TV, fast wifi, great washing machine) Parking is very easy and free overnight. It is also handy for the train station. Excellent communication from the owner, including simple instructions to find the apartment and make our way inside. Milngavie itself is a great town with plenty of amenities on the doorstep. A great stay, highly recommended and all at a lower cost than the local budget hotel chain....
