I completed the full time PPC in October 2025. It is an excellent deep dive into photography, key techniques, and some of the more practical business aspects of photography as a career - that opened up to me a ton of ideas and imagination about what it means to bring photography into my work, and make it a profession in practice. I started the PPC while rethinking my career and am excited about the possibilities it opens up to pursue a photography practice, whether full time or integrated into prior work in some way. The tutors are all excellent, practitioners in their own right who are always happy to share their knowledge and experience, their advice, and Holger, the course director, has built with his team a brilliant space to help students thrive wherever they're at. If you're considering an immersive programme, I would really recommend this one!

Flew in from Hong Kong to take the portrait photography course here - had Ossi and Holger as my teachers. Amazing experience, learned a ton, teachers were very knowledgeable, engaged, and generous with their sharings and the entire course was very hands on. We has an amazing selection of models to choose from, and I loved the results.

I finished the beginner course this weekend and had a lovely experience. I came into the course barely knowing how to turn a camera on/off and left the weekend feeling like I can actually take a decent photo! I don't consider myself as someone very creative or "artistic" so I hesitated to book a course for months after buying a camera. Holger was extremely patient and thoughtful in explaining the basic concepts. He provided a lot of great feedback and genuinely was interested in everyone's photo's. I'd highly recommend this class and look forward to more in the future.

The Complete Foundation Course has been brilliant and I’m sure will be very useful for my job and I’ve already started experimenting/practising personally. I think the course was well structured, covering all the basics with plenty of time to get used to the fundamentals of photography. I liked the range of topics covered, and thought it was great that you also touched on post-production on the final day. The examples and “case studies” of different artists we explored in each presentation really helped with grasping the theoretical concepts. The sessions were clear and delivered well, making it easy to understand for a beginner, and the teacher (Holger) was very encouraging.

I did the 2 day beginner course and loved it - Cat was a fantastic instructor and the presentations are really good. Group sizes are small (max of 8) so it's very interactive, and there's a nice mix of theory and practical work. I would recommend attending in person rather than online.

I gave the LiOP a 5 star review because the course really was eye opening for me. I took the Beginners Photography course and truthfully learned a lot in the short time, even after watching some photography videos on YouTube. This is because the course is very hands on. You are constantly practising with your camera, building up muscle memory. In the course you are given scenarios, what you are trying to achieve in a shoot and then what settings you would use to achieve the desired photo. For me the homework on the 1st night using the elements for the triangle of exposure was the 'light bulb' moment, showing me what you can achieve and the control you actually have with your camera. It's a very well developed and professionally delivered course. The focus of the LiOP is truly on the client to help them in achieving their goals whether it's a basic understanding of manual photo mode or those that are looking at a career in photography. I would truly recommend the courses that the LiOP have for anyone with an interest in photography and wanting to further develop their skills or increase their contacts in the photography community

I had an amazing experience at the London Institute of Photography. I completed the flexible Professional Photography course in 2022, I found the course was really well structured and executed. The teaches for each module had immense knowledge, they were kind and patient with all students in our small classes. Starting the course I enjoyed street and documentary photography, I came out of it with a new found love for fashion photography after enjoying planning our own shoot, then shooting in the studio using the equipment. An amazing hands on experience. I would 100% recommend this course to anyone at any stage of their photography journey.

Most amazing experience on the Professional Photography Course at LIoP! Learnt so much! I recently did the full time Professional Photography Course at LIoP and cannot recommend it highly enough. If you're thinking about going into photography professionally and are looking for a practical, creative and intense course that won't break the bank, and will prepare you for the real working world then this is 100% the course for you. I started as a complete beginner, and am now in a position where I feel confident in making Photography my full time career. Thank you to the inspiring LIoP teachers, amazing founder Holger, and the talented students on my course! I will remember the experience very fondly.

Just took the beginner's course over the weekend and really enjoyed it. I had no previous experience with photography beyond auto mode, but now I feel a lot more confident in the basics and excited to use my camera more. Our teacher, Holger, was knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging. Can't wait to come back for the intermediate course!
