Too busy to help sometimes. No use if you are vegan. They refuse to get me vegan medication. When they have promised its vegan twice it had gelatine in it. Just now had to go to pharmacy to find vegetarian vitamin D, as doctor's refused to search. I gave them the vegetarian details but doctors again wrote out a prescription that had gelatine, i think they are messing with me 4th November, tell me my vegetarian prescription was not vegetarian- when it was marked vegetarian Tell me, gelatine is vegetarian, which is not so. Told them my blood tests showed vetamin D ok in my blood. On 6th of the November I told my doctor that my vitamin D levels were ok I had been tested recently by my consultant, who had written to my gp and told me. There was a mix up and the vitamin d results wasn't sent. My gp would not contact my consultant. And refused to give me a blood test, telling me that I am on supplements for life, even though I don't need them. Unhappy.

Wonderful GP surgery that I cannot praise enough. The doctors that I dealt with were all professional, friendly, diligent and I had nothing but pleasant experiences with the staff here.

Normally I have been satisfied with Northcote, but today I have spent a few hours on hold. I phoned this morning to ask to speak to a doctor. The receptionist said one would call me later in the morning. I kept my phone right beside me but it didn't ring and I discovered I had a voice message. Tried to call back immediately, but had to go through the whole rigmarole again and was told someone would be in touch. This time I saw the voice message and tried to ring back immediately. Of course I had to listen to the announcements and was told I was 8th in the queue. When I got to first place the call shut down! After a second round of being 8th in the queue I did hear someone, but again the call closed. I still haven't got through to anyone and my phone has not rung. Has anyone else had a similar experience? So frustrated!

My doctors for over 25 years , have zero complaints , generally my health has been good but on the rare occasions I have been in contact I have been helped quickly and with respect , every member of staff and nurses and doctors I have been in contact have been brilliant . I shall be leaving this surgery soon as I have moved out the area but I wished to leave a review to all involved the past 25 years to say THANKYOU

I have been a patient of this surgery for over 20 years. I have to say I have never had to complain , in fact the past few years they have been absolutely fantastic Dr's ,nurses, and office staff, considering we had a pandemic, getting prescriptions is no problem, and i even got a few 'essential' appointments during covid , I would say the wait for an appointment is a bit long , even just for test results, but on occasions I have been seen or spoke to within half an hour or the next few days. One Dr in particular is amazing Dr Vaidya , she actually listens to you and does everything she can to get to the root of a problem, i am so grateful for all that she has done for me over the years . Great practice .

This practice has way over extended itself, little wonder most of the good doctors have moved on. Our family have been with Northcote over 20 years, but the service is now shockingly bad. A 3 week wait for a call back, utterly ridiculous. A 4 week wait for a face to face appointment, downright disgraceful. Still using covid as a reason to restrict attendance, only seeing a fraction of the pre-covid appointments numbers but still getting paid the same I'd wager. It's a joke when your local Pharmacist can consult and prescribe you anti-biotics for an infection because you can't see your own doctor for a month. I will be looking for another practice but I fear most are the same now.

AVOID THIS PRACTICE I don’t like writing negative reviews, but time and time again this surgery has been lacking in professionalism. After waiting 8 months to get my ultrasound appointment it finally came. The hospital are not allowed to give any information and a report is sent to the gp and a doctor is meant to call with results (if something is wrong). I called the surgery for an update. I received a call back from a receptionist who told me yes I had multiple cyst’s on my kidney and liver and that Dr Hamilton wanted me to see the nurse next week. I asked the receptionist for more information about this diagnosis. She couldn’t give me any information as she’s not medically trained but Dr Hamilton could speak to me in three weeks time! I was feeling worried, confused and stressed. I called back and asked if I had tested positive for polycystic kidney disease- and told the receptionist how worried I was and how I could not wait three weeks for more information. The receptionist said yes I had tested positive for this disease and that she would pass my message on to Dr Hamilton. I received no call back from Dr Hamilton or any other doctor. It’s absolutely shocking to be told by a receptionist with no medical training that I have life long disease. With no other information and unable to answer any of my questions. My understanding is that this surgery admits too many patient and the average wait to receive a call from a GP is 3-4 weeks. Last week I needed to wait 4 days for a new prescription as they lost it then every time i called I was told it wasn’t ready and to call back. If you value your health look for another practice.

As a patient at Northcote for the last 4 years, I only have good things to say about this practice. The doctors are incredibly nice and I have always felt that they have been delivering a high standard of care to me. Since the pandemic, the phone consultations have been really useful, so credit to the staff who are making the appointments and to the doctors who have always been upbeat, excellent listeners, and solution-orientated on the phone call appointments with me (2 of them). Prescriptions were quickly arranged with my local pharmacy. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice, hence why I am leaving this review.
