My daughters began young and have been so happy with Miss Jo. A lovely balance of nurture and achievement without any pushy behaviours. My eldest has been attending since 6 and she’s now 18 so I think that speaks volumes.
Both my girls have danced at JWDA since they were little, and have always been very happy here. It’s so lovely being part of such a nurturing and supportive family. The teachers are all so kind and work hard to bring out the best in each and every dancer. My eldest is going off to Uni now and is sad to be leaving.
This is a really special dance school, run by really special people. Children (and parents!) are valued and what you get is superb quality teaching, fabulous dancing pedigrees, excellent choice for young and old and spectacular shows that create wonderful memories to showcase all the skills the children learn. Extremely fond of JWDA.
I can only say we joined a new loving family, not just a dance academy! My daughters found new friends and their love for dancing only kept growing… and so did their skills. There’s an overall humble but incredibly professional atmosphere, that makes everyone feels welcome and included. The teachers are not only talented, but a model for their students, and they bring the bests out of the kids. I’ve also joined some of the adult ballet classes and wish to continue them in the new term ( brings back all the memories). Everyone in JWDA, from Miss Jo, to the teachers and assistants, to the lovely Katie and all the parents and older students make up a fantastic community that we feel lucky to be part of!
Jo is quite possibly the kindest teacher I’ve met. My daughter has danced with her for 8 years and loves every class. Jo gives so much of herself to the pupils and the school, it’s a pleasure to be part of it
As a former teacher at the school, I can wholeheartedly recommend JWDA for budding dancers. With a close knit family like feel to the school, every student is given the attention, power and opportunity to excel in their dancing. JWDA offers regular exam (RAD and IDTA) and performance opportunities which the students adore. With highly qualified teachers, each child comes away with not only a well rooted knowledge of dance and technique but also friendships, a strong work ethic and a love for the art form.
My daughter joined JWDA as a very shy and nervous four year old, and her nurturing ballet teachers have helped to transform her into a confident and happy nine year old! She loves her weekly ballet and tap lessons- she has made friends, enjoys learning to dance, performs in shows and takes exams. JWDA allows their students to take away a real sense of achievement alongside providing top quality dance education.
