We had the privilege to experience a month-long beginners course for salsa and bachata, and would highly recommend you try it out! The teachers are skilled and passionate, humorous and attentive despite class sizes.

We recently attended the Intensive Salsa Course at Caramelo Latin Dance Academy, and it was even better than we expected! We signed up just for fun and out of curiosity, since I really enjoy dancing but had never attended a course before. We haven’t danced much in the past, but we ended up having an amazing time while actually learning a lot. The class started with basic steps, which the instructor made sure everyone mastered before moving on to more challenging moves. By the second half, we were dancing with partners and really seeing our progress – which was incredible after just two hours! Even my non-dancing partner really enjoyed himself and made great progress throughout the course. That alone was a huge win! The instructor was fantastic – super engaging, patient, and really made sure to focus on each person, repeating the fundamentals throughout so no one felt left behind. The 4-hour course on Saturday flew by, and it was absolutely worth it! Highly recommended for everyone – no matter your age or skill level. If we, as VERY beginners, could do it, so can you!
Shaan is an excellent instructor and is highly recommended. As a 62 year old man accompanying his wife on a birthday gift idea I was apprehensive about the idea of a beginner’s class, not least about dancing with others. But I need not have worried. It was relaxed, structured, instructive and, above all, a good laugh. Give it a go, especially if you’re concerned about your first dance class.
This is the best beginners course I have attended out of about 6. It is pitched just at the right level and Shaan is a brilliant instructor. If you are a total beginner and looking for where to start I would start with the 1 day intensive course with this company.
What a fun night we had in the office with Shaan teaching to 30 people how to dance Salsa. We learnt so much in two hours and Shaan made everyone to feel comfortable and at ease. Everyone had a great time and we would like to host again another class very soon!
I participated in the 5-hour intensive beginners session. Shaan is a fantastic teacher who quickly put everyone at ease with his wit and relaxed teaching style. This helped everyone to relax, have fun and enjoy the session. We started from the basic steps and over the course of the day worked all the way up to partner work with turns. By the end we were all able to dance to Salsa tracks and improvise on our own. Highly recommended!
Shaan runs a great school with a many passionate teachers! The classes are well structured and I enjoy learning all of the different types of dance. I have had a great experience and look forward to the weekly lessons!
