Oya is amazing. We went to her to learn a little bit to avoid an awkward shuffle. But she was so encouraging and supportive that we ended up learning a much more exciting routine and totally fell in love with dancing together! Oya is super patient, with boundless enthusiasm, really kind, flexible, and very responsive - always keen to hear what was working for us and what we wanted to change so that it really worked for us. She gave us such a brilliant experience that we felt it was a real highlight of the whole wedding planning period. And our dance was a total hit! We’re definitely going back for more lessons in the future!

We booked sessions with captiv8 dance to prepare for a wedding dance at the suggestion of my fiancΓ©. I want massively bothered about it but went along with it. It turned out to be one of the most fun bits of the wedding prep. Oya is such a good teacher, so flexible and so enthusiastic. She doesn't teach you just a routine but how to dance. We found the practice to be an ideal antidote to wedding stress. When it came to the wedding we nailed it, and it felt so good. We even did our dance at home the day later as we missed it. We're planning on doing follow up lessons as we loved it so much!

Oya is a true gem, and an incredible dancer and teacher! She worked so carefully with my wife and I, pushing us to expand our repertoire and to go more ambitious with our first danceβ€”but all within reason and in a very attainable way! She is so charismatic it is hard to believe there is anything you can't do when you're in the class. After our five classes we were able to proceed and practice on our own time, but Oya so kindly would reach out and ask for videos, give us tips, and otherwise check in on us before the day. She was immensely supportive of us as a queer couple, excitedly showing us how we could switch off leads mid-dance, and always helping us better our steps by every little bit. The classes were immensely fun, and we were able to execute the choreography very well on the day. The more you put in the more you will get out of it, but Oya is there to be your cheerleader all along the way.

We loved working with Oya and Ed! They made learning our first dance easy and so much fun! We were sad when our 5th class came to a close, but we couldn’t wait to show off our moves to all of our wedding guests. We hope to take some of their other dance classes in the future!

My partner and I did a series of amazing classes with Oya and Ed before we got married earlier this year. They are both absolutely wonderful, incredibly warm and brilliant to learn from - we loved them. They choreographed our entire first dance while taking into account our preferences and song of choice. Also learned quite a few different steps along the way. Would 100% recommend.

Dance lessons turned out to be our favourite part of wedding planning! And that's largely because Ed & Oya are such great teachers, and they keep it fun the whole time you are learning! We are so happy with the routine they put together for us! We were very useless dancers to begin with, but after five lessons, we had an amazing routine which also included and some dips and 2 lifts!! Something I thought I'd be no chance at! I can't recommend enough doing some dance lessons for your first wedding dance, and Ed & Oya are without question, the best people to use! Thank you both so much!

My Fiance and I had a fantastic experience with Ed. We wanted a couple of lessons to learn a basic choreographed routine for our wedding. Ed did a fantastic job of creating a routine that hit really the mark and was great at teaching it to us. Would highly recommend.

Oya and Ed are absolutely amazing! We wanted to have a totally unique dance for our wedding reception and they helped us all the way through! We had no experience dancing before we started with them and we felt so comfortable and confident by our wedding day! We actually started out classes via zoom for our wedding because it was during the pandemic but then as regulations eased we went into the studio for in person lessons weekly! They were super accommodating with our busy schedules which was brilliant! We loved our experience and all our guests loved our dance! We had many different styles from slow to fast songs mixed into one dance!

Oya and Ed are wonderful humans and brilliant teachers. We found them through a recommendation by a friend and can’t recommend them enough! They did our first dance choreography for our wedding, gave suggestions, took our suggestions, making us feel comfortable through the whole journey. They really do put heart and soul into this and they went over and above all expectations. We can’t wait to continue dancing with them!
