I'd give 10 stars if I could! The most fun and inclusive hobby I've picked up in this city, Jessie and the rest of the teachers and volunteers work so hard to make everyone feel welcome and included. I've never seen a class go to the same effort to cater for people's needs - from the getgo the signup page asks if you have any additional requirements. It's so refreshing to try something new where the emphasis is having fun and making friends! The beginners classes progress at an easy pace to allow everyone to get on the same page, and there is a pub booking every week after class (and nobody cares if you are drinking or not). 100% recommend to anyone wanting to learn to dance as an adult - I can't wait to carry on in the new year.

Accessible, inclusive and fun, Jig & a Swig is more than just Irish dance classes. It is a fantastic project & community lovingly built by the formidable Jessie year after year for all adults who want to give Irish dancing a go but also for those who might want to meet friendly like-minded people in the process. The concept? Come for a dance, join for a drink. Each class is 60 min of craic & cardio followed by an optional pub session for refreshments and camaraderie. No obligation to socialise, consume or mingle but the opportunity to do so is offered each week. Total flexibility! Everyone is welcome to join regardless of their levels (from complete beginner to professional) as classes and courses are structured based on prior experience. No judgement or competition, just fun & frolics with lots of socials and special workshops too. And of course, the very best Irish dance classes in London taught by experts. Sign up for a course or drop in for a class and meet a warm international community who all have the love of Irish culture in common. Highlight of my week!!

I joined Jig and a swig in January and it’s the best thing I’ve done since moving to London. Jessie creates such a fun, open and welcoming environment from the first minute. She is a brilliant teacher and does this all while keeping the classes organised and running smoothly, seemingly effortlessly! The community is fantastic, full of like-minded people who also want to try something new and make friends along the way, made easier by the fact that you see them every week. There are extra events being run all of the time and so many opportunities to get involved if the weekly class isn’t enough:)

I absolutely love Jessie’s classes! They’re always so much fun, with such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Jessie has a great way of making everyone feel comfortable while still keeping things challenging at just the right level. Every class is a perfect balance — you get to enjoy yourself, but you also feel like you’re really learning and improving. I always leave feeling motivated and looking forward to the next session. Couldn’t recommend Jig and a Swig any more!

Jessie is a brilliant teacher and I've enjoyed my time going here even though I'm completely new to Irish dancing. It's got a great vibe and I'd recommend if you want to try something new - or pick up something old!
