We booked Mr Darcy’s afternoon tea during Jane Austen Festival. Definitely a special experience, the staff were friendly and helpful, the cafe was very elegant with periods music as a background. Tasty sandwiches and scones as well as a nice selection of good quality teas.

I was really excited for this experience, but in the end I left feeling like it was alright but nothing special. We arrived 15 minutes early to our reservstion and asked staff if it was okay to head into the tea room which they agreed to and encouraged, but when we entered the staff inside told us the table wouldn't be ready until exact time of the reservation and we should go back downstairs to wait. Unfortunately, the stairwell gets very crowded due to the layout of the building so it was difficult to go up and down the stairs. If there was an area to wait upstairs or if staff didn't encourage us to go up early, I think the experience would have started off better. The afternoon tea itself took a very long time to come out despite it being a set menu that we booked in advance. I enjoyed the charming little timer to let you know when to pour your tea, and the tea itself was good. The finger sandwiches were standard. The scones were served warm, and the plain scone was delicious! Unfortunately, the fruit scone was the opposite: hard, dry, and tasted as if it had been sitting out for a long time. All the pastries on top were okay, but nothing was particularly special. I was hoping for nice theming of tea sets or desserts at the Regency Tea Room, but in the end it just is an okay afternoon tea that could be found elsewhere. Overall, I still enjoyed my time, but I am not sure if I would come back to the tea room even if I visit the centre again.

The best afternoon tea I have ever had! I’m not sure what the other reviews are talking about, but the scones were hot and fresh. The sandwiches were excellent, and the pastries were sublime. The service was very fast, and the servers were extremely kind. It was also only Β£29.50 per person, making it very affordable as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for afternoon tea in Bath.

Lovely place to stop for a cuppa if visiting the Jane Austen Centre or are just walking by. We enjoyed a nice selection of teas and scones in a period setting. The team was welcoming and accommodating. Especially nice if you’d like a quieter setting for an afternoon tea. We were able to walk in, but a booking would usually be recommended.

Great place for tea after visiting the Jane Austen Museum. I ordered the Lady Catherine’s Proper Cream Tea with a slice of Victorian sponge cake. Pro tip: make a reservation in advance

I had the afternoon tea with Mr. Darcy set. It was good. A lot of food. I also liked the tea but wish the food comes out a little faster or brew the tea a bit later to avoid the weird after taste for brewing the tea leaves for a long time

My wife and I ordered Tea with Mr. Darcy and found the treats to be average at best. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were not bad, but I've also had better at other places. I would say the scones were the best out of the three. For tea, we had Assam and Spicy Black Chai. I liked both, but enjoyed the Assam just a little bit more. The staff was extremely pleasant and attentive. I would skip this unless you are a huge Jane Austen fan.

Enjoyed every moment. Had the Afternoon Tea with Mr. Darcy and it was awesome. Customer Service was great and atmosphere was quite fancy without being pretentious. The tea was delicious and the the scones were lovely and warm. Loved all the sandwiches. The teacakes weren't my taste, but they didn't bring down the meal. Lovely overall.

Fantastic afternoon tea with wonderful staff! I went with a group of 8 friends for one of their 30th birthdays on Friday 1st of April 2022. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The staff on duty that we interacted with were James and Tabby. They were absolutely brilliant and made the experience thoroughly enjoyable. Couldn't thank them enough for the experience we had! The food was amazing too and we all enjoyed the different teas we had! I can personally recommend the spicy black chai!
