Favorite pub in the world. Bass ale and snuff: you can't go wrong. Interior is beautifully finished, borderline austure, and transports you and your company to a different time.

What a pub. An absolute gem. Kegs of Bass (oldest trademark in the world) ale on the bar floor tapped straight into glass jugs and poured jovially into glass tankards around our merry table of 10. Scrumpy cider; crisps-galore. An upright pianoβ€”"Hey Jude"β€”and a friendly and welcoming barman offering a carte blanche to bring in takeaway food. Friendly locals. Great value. An absolute classic of a pubβ€”from the ages, for the ages. The Star (Inn) of Bath.

Great boozer, Bass on draught - got lots of character. Little bit out of town, so bit quieter than central pubs - but definitely worth a visit!

This has to be one of the most historic, traditional pubs I’ve been to in the UK. Loved the atmosphere and pokey layout of the pub and the roaring fire.

What a great old worldly pub. A few small rooms all with wood panelling and glass partitions. Old type fireplaces. Wooden floors throughout. Tap beers and real ales available. It's really like going back in time, brilliant. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Old type bench seats. Beer was good. Great visit.

Beautiful pub, lovely staff. Cask selection is great with well kept beers served with a smile. Draft Bass…

Favourite pub in Bath - delightfully cosy spot with a fire going in the winter, a nice selection of ales (the Abbey Bellringer is fabulous) and light bites. Tables can seat eight people or so - and you can fit a pram / dog in the room to the left fairly comfortably. Nice quiet crowd; people just chatting or reading the paper etc. Highly recommend! Cheers!

Best Pub in Bath without a doubt. "Bass" β–² served straight from the barrel, and a selection of real ales to satisfy any beer lover. Fresh filled rolls and the 1960s interior with a myriad of small rooms, just adds to the whole experience of "going out for a pint". Fantastic.

Fantastic little bolt hole. Called in to get out of an autumnal shower. Warm little pub with fires lite in each room. Friendly staff and locals too. Stepped in history.

A nice traditional pub except no cash payments!! Very friendly atmosphere and does not discriminate in my 3 evenings I spent around the pub it had people from every walk of life in there and most where willing to talk to an out of towner which made my life easier, nothing worse than walking into a clicky pub full of locals that don't want your arse there thats not the case with the Star Inn loads of history fire place and plenty of seating I stayed across the road from here and found it very pleasant with lots of local beers on tap and the usual, fairly priced.
