We haven't visited the Green Tree for some while however having called in there recently we will not be returning again in a hurry! Reading all the recent 5* reviews perhaps the barman had got out the wrong side of the bed on the day we called in. The guy could hardly bring himself to speak to us, and when it came to the card payment he thrust the terminal at me, no mention of the amount being charged and the machine turned away so I couldn't see the screen. When asked he grumpily replied with the amount. It wasn't just us either; someone coming in shortly afterwards tried to engage the barman in a conversation about what beer to choose with little success. There are plenty more pubs in Bath with a far warmer welcome than here!

This place is a must try hot meat rolls in Bath. The list of choices is short, but they are all contenders for top honours - we tried the porcetta with salsa verde, which was fantastic. However the rare roast beef and chicken with caramelised shallots both looked exceptional. Service is fast but demand is high, expect there to be a queue but it moves quickly.

As two Scots who wanted to find a cosy pub we were really pleased with the green tree. We were made welcome and had some great conversations and laughs. A genuine bunch of down to earth regulars! We felt like if we ever moved to Bath we could easily make friends in this pub. Thanks for the laughs!!

I never knew this pub existed until the Mystery tour of Bath pointed me in it's direction! What a find! Wood panelled with 3 different rooms, all dressed with beautiful flowers/faux flowers. The barman clearly enjoys making the environment inviting. It gives off a great vibe and I can imagine in the evening it's a really warm, lively, fun pub to visit. I do keep seeing food mentioned online, but when we visited (slightly just before lunchtime) I saw no menus and the chalk boards had no mention of food. We may possibly have been too early for lunch though.

What a great spot to grab a genuine ale. The bartender (wish I grabbed his name) and local regulars were amazing people. Loved hearing the history of the place and the whole Free House vs Macro Brewery realities in the UK pub scene. Half pours of the ales were much appreciated as an option so I could try several during a short visit.

Lovely place. Visited bath for the weekend and went to quite a few pubs, this was by far the best. Cozy atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff, also the nicest doorman I think I’ve ever encountered. Definitely go there

One of my favourite pubs in Bath. A real proper local. Tiny, cozy, great ales, friendly locals and even more friendly staff behind the bar. Nothing beats this place on a cold autumn / winter Saturday evening!

A superb feature rich pub with good ales. Close to the city centre and worthy of a visit or three.

Nice cozy pub for a beer. The publican told me this was actually the oldest pub in Bath so go check it out.
