   Ordered a pie for me and a bhaji burger for my partner. After a long wait, the pie and a very sad looking burger arrived. When the bartender came back with the chips I asked if the burger could be taken back as it was missing a few of the ingredients that were listed on the menu... It never came back. We were there for over an hour and the burger didn't arrive. Once I finished the pie, we asked for a refund on the burger and were told they didn't know when it would come through due to Christmas(?), so we had to opt for cash. Bar staff were nice, pie was decent, good chips, but the kitchen seems a bit incompetent.

   Stopped for a bit of Saturday lunch at a busy time where we found a table and service was quick. The food was good and tasty but a little lacking in presentation for the price. A good range of beers were on offer and it was good to watch sport while we ate. Thanks for a good refuel.

   Had food and drinks here. Both pizzas (~£15ea) were burnt on the underside - just charred black which ruined the taste. When we queried this with the staff we were told that this was deliberate and just a part of their 'hot' cooking process. So be warned, this isn't going to be a one-off! Very disappointing as it was otherwise a great location with a lovely outside space and a fair selection of drinks.

   Lovely beer garden just off the river. Staff are friendly and the BBQ smelt amazing although we didn’t try it on this occasion. Was a busy day but plenty of seating in the shade. Toilets were a bit of a mess but it was a busy Saturday afternoon.

   Friendly staff, awesome food and great ambiance. A fantastic dog friendly pub / restaurant in a great location. Popped in for lite bite and a drink, and we were very impressed with the quality and speed of the service, and food was just Wow! We highly recommend The Boater to anyone who wants great food and wonderful staff in a comfortable, casual setting. Can't wait to go back! Cooper gives it Five Paws.

   A fabulous location, brimming with helpful and kind staff. I had the pleasure to visit last week and while I am not a huge drinker of cider, a helpful member of staff poured out little glasses for me to try, until I found a drink I loved. The Boater has a view of the street running down to Laura Place and a riverside view to die for. I'll be visiting again very soon!

   Great pub right by the river and the rugby ground. I've been coming here on and off for 25years and it is always excellent. The food has improved over the years, and is now exceptional. The staff are friendly and the beer choice is fantastic.
