UPDATE: A few days after I got my car back, the manager Steve called and apologised for the miscommunication, explaining that it happened while he was away on leave. I was offered a replacement of my second tyre that they had missed, as a courtesy, which I appreciated. Upgrading review from 3 to 4 stars since my review was followed up and I was offered something to make up for the shortcomings. Always ask for Steve if you can Did not have the best experience on my last visit. I came in to ask for tyres and an MOT, even brought the car in beforehand so they could confirm so they had the right tyres in stock. I specifically asked to get the 2 front tyres done first because I knew the MOT would fail otherwise. Was told all okay and booked it in. When I get the call later in the day, I'm told the MOT failed because of the tyres (and a few other items), and am told it was my fault for booking "an MOT slot" hence the tyres not being done first. Poor communication there, but not the end of the world, as I'm told all problems are minor and should be sorted quickly for around £200 total bill. I do not get a callback that day, nor the next day, until I go over there myself to ask for an update as I'm round the corner, only to be told their initial diagnosis was wrong, and in fact one of my handbrake cables was gone, and they'd snapped another one while trying to fix it. Then I'm told they couldn't source a spare because apparently Vauxhall does not make them anymore. Only when I push for a solution do they say they'll look online for second-hand parts and "they're busy so can't spend all day looking", so I don't get even a rough estimate of when I might hear back. Another 4 days pass until I get a call to say they managed to source a part and it's all good. Bearing in mind it took me 30 seconds to find it on eBay even without a part number (and they specifically mentioned eBay when they said they were going to look for second-hand spares). I go to pick up the car, and get a £360 bill. I query the £200 charge for replacing a £30 brake cable. I'm told they had to replace 2 of them (presumably including the one they snapped themselves) and were charging me for that plus labour. I'm also surprised to see that they had only replaced one of my tyres (the other was only an advisory so the MOT still passed) despite me very clearly asking for both (maybe to reduce my bill after the handbrake cable charges). I tried to offer some feedback about the commmunication issues but they did not sound very keen to hear it, hence writing a review. I'm giving 3 stars because they did do a job in the end, and I've had a good experience there before, and the staff are friendly. But the communication was atrocious: - Failed to replace my tyres before doing the MOT despite clear instructions - Did not update me when they discovered a new problem following initial diagnosis - Did not explain that they had no spare part, or ask for permission to try to fix the issue given the risk they might snap another cable - Did not update me with a timeline or with an updated quote for the repairs after identifying the new problem - Failed to carry out all the repairs I'd requested - Seem to have charged me for replacing an item (plus labour) that broke through the course of their work Very much on the fence on whether I'd go there again, but my advice is you have to be proactive chasing them because communication can be an issue.

I had my MOT done here today and I'm very impressed. Timely MOT completion, failed on a bulb which they replaced with zero fuss. Great blokes. Ive finally found an MOT garage I trust.

A huge thank you to Darren and colleagues. My driver side window had gone down and locked and it was raining and me and my 4 year old were getting soaked. I pulled up and asked if they could look at it, Darren explained the problem and did a temporary fix for me until I could get it sorted properly. Darren did this totally free of charge as a good will gesture! Highly recommend going here as they are honest and not just looking to make money. Thank you so much for saving us it was the last day before my son goes to reception so we was able to have a fun day out because of your kindness :)

I had some springs fitted at this garage and had a knocking noise coming from my suspension after they fitted them, only to find out they hadn't tightened up the top bolt. They then tightened up it with impact hammer drill only to have the same problem. Then they refused to fix the problem as I wasn't happy with that I booked it in again for them to tell me that the shock absorber was broken and they couldn't get the part as my car is 21 years old. I have now spoken to another reputable garage who can get the parts I need. There customer service is also very poor as they had the car all day and didn't contact me to let me know what was wrong with it, until I called them!! I suggest not using this garage..

Although staff were polite the service was dreadful. My car failed it's MOT, but they were not interested in explaining what was wrong, doing the work required or offering suggestions for alternative help. Couldn't wait to get rid of us!

What an amazing team of mechanics. I have had my service, MOT, new tyres and repairs carried out here. As well as requesting a replacement tyre but they advised me they could just repair it instead (saving me plenty of money). This really is a fantastic place to take your car. 100% recommend. I will be using them for my future services and MOTs for the foreseeable future.

With an expired MOT and a punctured tyre, my end of 2022 could have turned into a disaster! The AA would not help because of my expired MOT and despite being a member for many years, I would have had to fork out to get my car dropped at a garage of my choice. Needless to say I got the spare tyre on myself and the team at HMC Patchway sorted out the rest! With the garage closing at 12pm today, I rang at 9am and managed to get a "first come first served" appointment today Saturday 31st of December for the MOT! Jason made my day by being able to fix the puncture instead of me having to buy a new one and we had a good old chat while we waited for the glue to dry in the damp weather conditions! Now with my car safe back on the roads (for only £66 in total - £45 MOT and £18 +VAT for puncture repair), I can only say a massive THANK YOU to all the team there today, the lady at reception (forgot to get her name), Jason the tyre expert and the MOT guys! Wishing you all the best for 2023! I have been a customer of yours for a couple of years now and I will remain a customer for as long as possible!
