My cars heat started to go up and down, so i topped it with coolant, and checked oil which was roughly halfway. Went on a 30 minute grocery run, came back, and the fan is blowing, the temperature was still slightly higher, but 2 bars under the red area. So i looked under car and saw coolant bubbling from the drivers side. Phoned tow had car towed to Gibbs on the Friday Gone. He phoned me up and told that it would be £90 to look at the car, as he has to take of casing and go inside to find the leak and diagnose the issue. I told him the coolant was leaking under drivers side, and that engine managements light is on initially. He rang me back telling me it is the water pump, and that have i ever had it changed. I said i dont know, that i dont care what the job is, that as long as the price is reasonable otherwise i will get rid of the car and get a new one. He told me £450 in cash, and £540 with Card. So i said cash would be fine, having already paid the £90 for the diagnosis. The next call i got was telling me, that the new water pump was put in but it is still leaking in the head gasket, and burned boiled up when they did whatever they did after installing it, and that the head gasket is a big expensive Job. At this point i am confused because they diagnosed a water pump as the problem. So i point that out. They then start talking about dirt debri, and possible oil mixed in the coolant. I wanted to speak face to face, but the guy told me that they shouldn't've taken the car in anyway, and havent charged me for all the car work, but the work isnt guarantied. Because of the "problems they discovered after the water pump installation. When i arrive i point out the above, and he disputes showing me a bucket full of my coolant, and some debri floating on the top claiming this was the problem, that he thinks its oil but doesnt know what it is, this was after the other mechanic told me that the car had no coolant in it at all, and claims he never charged me for diagnosis, which was not true. My car is still leaking around the same part, and i discovered the undershield to my car is missing, and has been removed and not put back on leaving it all exposed. I asked him where it is, and he denied taking it off, denied having it, and basically lied to me. When the whole point in paying £90 to diagnose was to take of the covers and get into the engine to see where the leak was. Then he claimed that the diagnosis fee wasnt enough hours to look for the leak, so why initially charge me for that? I also had to wait for my receipt for 20 minutes, because i wrote not happy with service on receipt and he didn't want to give it to me. The receipt has old water pump inside on there, like something went wrong. And the guy on the phone said something went wrong, and didnt tell me exactly what. But all the water pump kit looks new in the box, no dust on the belt at all. Which would make sense if the old water pump is still in my car. Dont trust these people, they lie through their teeth, and my undershield is now missing, and my car still isnt fixed, with engine management light still on, and a weird high pitch sound on the wheels when breaking, at 5 miles per hour, while it was moved from their car park, to the street for towing (roughly about 6 meter's length). They claim they drove it on motorway and it drives and is fixed. I spoke to the younger male and the boss. Both told me lies, about my car, and what happened in their shop. I need a new car, and now have to go through legal avenues to rectify this situation. Because they are not going to get away with it, without accountability. They got the right one this time. I paid in full with further action on my receipt. Which is why they didnt want to give it to me, stating i shouldn't've wrote not happy on there. Update 15th November Mr Gibss is still refusing to refund me by hiding, and not engaging after his fraudulent lying about doing a diagnosis, in order to fleece money. At same time encouraging cash payments with lower prices. Leaving less protection for customers.

I hardly ever write reviews but really need to warn people not to use this garage. Took my van is as it pulling to the right, they told me it was the tracking, charged me £42 for looking at it and quoted £200 to do the tracking, which is so expensive. I drove off and 2 miles down the road my brakes seized and nearly set on fire. Turns out the caliper was stuck on and this was why pulling to the left, it was crazy lazy workmanship which meant this wasn't spotted as its why i took the van to the garage in the first place. Avoid

These guys got me out a massive hole today and I cannot recommend them highly enough. After breaking down overnight in the centre of Bristol (I Live in Wiltshire), they went above and beyond to help me get my car back on the road (which they did!!!) today with a tow and a starter motor change. All arranged today, with a understanding approach and absolutely zero hassle. And a fantastic price too considering the situation I was in. These guys are living proof that being nice and kind is always the best way to be. Thoroughly recommended!!!!!

Poor communication, asked to know what was wrong with the car, they never explained then when I arrived to collect it the bill was £80 more than what they said over the phone, I asked why and he just said because that’s what it is. First and last time using this garage

Awful experience. Unprofessional. My bill was more than expected, not significantly maybe £30-50 more but the bill was not itemised and so I queried it. They did not like that at all - horrendous customer services. No accountability, confusing explanations, passing the responsibility from one man to another until they called the owner down who then threatened and intimidated me saying that the bill should have been even more. Mike who did the MOT seemed nice & was the only one who made an attempt to explain the bill to me. The owner was horrible, and his son was dismissive. I definitely would NOT recommend this garage.

Yes we are in times of Covid so lets give these people a little benefit of the doubt. However if I could give this garage less than 1 star I would. Extremely rude. Said it would take 2 days to fix my car... week three still no car back. Started looking on gumtree thinking they had actually SOLD my car due to the lack of information. Hung up on me frequently when I tried to find out what was going on. Could hear them talking about me when I asked to speak to the person who knew WHERE my car was as they transferred it behind my back. Wouldn't recommend. Don't waste your time or money here. Took for me to get someone else to ring and for me to arrange another garage to pick the car up to fix it and then suddenly it was done. Asked for a MOT too which they didn't do. So nearly £700 and three weeks later. I got my car back but not without a fight, another garage getting involved and paying hundreds more than we had agreed. 5 stars my a*s
