Z is great at listening to exactly what you want and giving great advise if desired. He’s so patient and kind which made mine and my cousin’s experience memorable ❤️ he also came in on his day off since it was the only time we were available. Thank you Z!
Had my first tattoo at Amethyst Ink yesterday. I am incredibly happy with how it turned out. Zino was very professional, friendly and calm with me, which helped a lot as I was super nervous. Initially I felt the needle pain as expected and after a while I felt quite relaxed. I said it felt a bit like a spiky massage, which was a suprise to me. I would definitely recommend the studio, especially to any Vegans out there, as Zino explained he tries his best to keep the studio as vegan-friendly as possible and it helped with the aftercare being really good for sensitive skin like mine as well.
I have had the worst experience with Amethyst Ink and would never recommend anybody to book in with them. From unprofessional, scammy behaviour from Simon Mora , nearly doubling the quote of a tattoo after I sent a £50 deposit, and not responding for weeks to even tell me he had received my deposit, to the immature, name calling behaviour from the owner Zino. I contacted Zino to help clarify the situation with Simon, and whether it was common practice within their studio to not define any terms when giving a deposit (e.g. non refundable, cancellation up to 72hrs etc), especially as he changed the quote and hadn’t even began drawing up my design, in his own words. I left adequate amount of time for him to find another person to take my session, and many of my artist friends all agree that I should be given my full deposit back. Immediately after contacting Zino, Simon took the situation very personally and began sending unprofessional and manipulative emails, probably to make me feel guilty for not wanting to pay £450 when I was told ~£250 initially. Zino refused to help, instead becoming hostile and saying Simon didn’t do anything wrong, and that from their POV I am the one in the wrong. I told the studio I would be seeking legal advice. After five days of getting nowhere and no response from the studio, I left a negative review. They responded immediately, asking what it would take for me to remove my review. I said I would like my deposit back, to no avail. After days of going in circles and aggressive messages from the studio, I said I would accept 75% of my refund, then 70%, then 60%, and finally 50%, at £25. The studio said they would only refund me if I took down my review first. I had previously told them I will remove the review upon receiving my refund, and so it was sent. However, once sent, I did not check my phone for a while as I both work and am a student, and came back to empty threats from Zino saying if I do not take it down within an hour, he will be forced to take action and the situation will be ‘far from over’. He also began to insult me, calling me ‘untrustworthy’ ‘aggressive and angry’ ‘hateful’ and ‘disrespectful’. This is quite funny considering they like to preach how they are friendly, warm, welcoming and professional. I have never felt so uncomfortable and disgusted with a business’ behaviour, and I really would not recommend these guys to anyone. For your own sake, find another studio.
Would not recommend using this studio unless you love unprofessional artists, passive aggression and a lack of clarity and communication. Completely unsympathetic and put a little money grab above the comfort of customers, feels like a really uncomfortable environment to even consider being tattooed in.
I can’t even put into words the experience I had at Amethyst. Z is amazing and we were brought to his shop by a series of unexplainable events and are so glad we were! Z is professional, kind, compassionate, and his work is fantastic! Best of the best. Everyone…if you’re looking for a tattoo go anywhere, if you’re looking for a tattoo experience where you are treated like family and the work is beautiful and spot on, go to Amethyst Tattoos!!
