Extremely disappointed with poor communication and lack of transparency at this dental practice My husband booked an appointment at this dental practice last Tuesday because he was in pain. We were charged £90 for what they classed as an “emergency appointment.” However, this fee was never mentioned when he booked over the phone. We only discovered the extra charge afterwards when checking the invoice. When I called to question it, the receptionist told me the information was “on the website” if you book within seven days — but that’s not acceptable. Patients should be told clearly about any additional fees when making an appointment, not have to search for it later. I asked for the practice manager, Ellie, to call me back to discuss the issue. Despite being told she would contact me the following day, I’m still waiting — and it’s now Sunday. The lack of follow-up and poor communication from both the reception team and the practice manager is very disappointing. We won’t be returning and they have now lost the two of us Transparency, honesty, and respect for patients should be a basic standard.
The reason this practice has so many good reviews is they regularly offer all their customers the opportunity to go in a draw to win £50.00 of vouchers if they leave them a review on Google. Those participating obviously leave a good review as they want the vouchers. It's clean and on the whole pretty good but not as good as the reviews say and jacking your reviews on Google unfairly is in my opinion very unprofessional. One of my experiences there was extremely unpleasant, the dentist and her assistant were really off, making sarcy faces behind my back like a pair of school children. The bridge they'd put in kept falling out and I was made out to be the problem. I paid alot of money for a really crappy experience. The real rating might be "they're alright till something goes wrong, then you could be blamed for it".
I've been going here for years and everyone I've recommended has said how great they are. Hands down the best dentist around. Justin and Anita are flawless as well as the customer service desk doing everything and anything they can to help you. And your appointment time is your actual appointment time, they dont leave you sitting in the waiting room for half an hour.
I arrived on time for my appointment. Early in fact, but that was my choice. I waited and Ben came out of room to have a discussion with a lady about issues like his annual leave approval, career progression etc. this continued for 20 minutes past my appointment time. If he was delayed due to an emergency I would be very understanding. One of the girls reminded him of my appointment and I was called for my appointment. I was disappointed to be kept waiting for a personal discussion, which would have been better carried out in private without a patient having to wait and listen to the conversation. Treatment was good. Just the unnecessary waiting.
I saw the hygienist this week and it was a surprisingly pleasant experience. Not only Anita did an excellent and thorough job, but she was also very good at explaining everything she was doing, making sure I wasn't experiencing any discomfort. Despite me showing up late due to traffic, the appointment was not at all rushed: Anita really took the time to talk with me and to give me some good cleaning tips and advice. I would highly recommend her and Isca Dental!
Outstanding care and service! Wonderful welcoming staff who are very professional and most reassuring. Practice is spotless and you can be reassured that you will have the best dental care available in Wales Justin is an exceptional dentist with a lovely manner , the dental nurses and reception team are all delightful.
I have been seeing Justin for around a year after many years of not visiting the dentist due to a fear of them. Since my first visit, everybody has been very understanding and patient with me. Treatment that has been needed has been talked through with me beforehand so I've known exactly what to expect and what would be done. Justin is a fantastic dentist and all the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I no longer have a fear of the dentist! Would definitely recommend to anybody looking for a dentist.
I've recently joined the practice after moving to the area. My past experience of the dentist wasn't entirely positive so I had completely lost trust and confidence. As soon as I had my initial consultation I knew straight away that I'd made the right decision. Everyone I have come into contact with have been so warm, friendly, empathetic and considerate. Special thanks has to go to Justin who is helping with rebuild my confidence in making me feel at ease and relaxed at every appointment. I'm no longer putting off appointments or dreading going. Justin and his excellent staff have been successfully looking after the dental care of myself and my family for more years than I can remember. The surgery itself is modern, well-equipped and offers the very latest in dental technology. However it is service that counts and the service from all of the staff at Isca Dental is superb; you are always made to feel like a valued customer. Justin's skill, knowledge and upbeat, friendly personality makes it almost a pleasure to have to go to the dentist! :-)
