Lyons and Company handled the sale of my late father’s house for me. From the start, they were clear about what I needed to do, supported me through the process of completing forms and answering queries, and communicated clearly and appropriately throughout. Indeed, I often got an instantaneous response to my email. I felt in very safe hands throughout. I particularly appreciated the empathy and support of Emma and especially Suzannah in the latter stages of the sale. This is not a large commercial operation which is hard to reach but a deliberately local firm of solicitors serving the local community and providing clear and sensible advice at a fair and reasonable price. I was glad I used them when I saw how hard the buyers of the property were finding it to get in touch with the firm of solicitors recommended to them by the estate agent. I was attracted to this firm after reading the review. After a few weeks of chain requests for information, we provided all the requested info with sheer patience. They don’t ask questions in one go but they work in a drip feeding mode. Instead of conveyancing work for the property in question, the conveyancer, Sarah, just kept coming back to us asking for a series of bank statements, previous house purchase contracts and bank transactions that happened decades ago. Guess what, after a few weeks, she wrote an email saying that despite all the documents provided, they now realise they don’t actually have the necessary expertise in carrying out conveyancing for our case. I don’t doubt the authenticity of all the 5-star reviews, but in our case, this is a total disappointment and wasted a good few weeks of time and resources.
