   A razor cut with Mel this year has completely changed my life! For nearly 50 years I have never had a style and my thick long hair has always been a hairdresser’s nightmare. But after seeing a video of Mel expertly working with a razor on instagram I made an appointment. The salon is a lovely space with welcoming staff and Mel is so calming. It was a pleasure to see her working through my hair and after the final styling I was quite emotional…I loved everything about it, finally a hairstyle that felt so light! The razor cut suits my hair beautifully and it has given me so much more confidence. Mel really does know her stuff! Incredible service and I wouldn’t want anyone else near my hair now. Thank you Mel.

   I love this salon and have been coming back to Charley for years now. Wouldn’t go anywhere else! Charley is friendly, professional and a very good hairdresser. She has always offered good advice and I feel like she knows what would work for my hair. All the salon staff are friendly and welcoming and the place has a lovely vibe and decor.

   Went for a cut as wanted something different and it was more like a Supercut cut in a shopping mall with high prices. When I got there 2 ladies had their hair cut. When I was finished their hair was still being cut. She literally just spent 5 minutes cutting my hair and I looked the same as before. I was so upset I couldnt wait to get out and wont be returning nor would I recommend this salon. The girl (Charlie) made no conversation and couldnt care less. I wanted it shorter and layers. Something new and different. She literally just cut across to take a bit off the length and cut 2 or 3 long layers. I might as well not have bothered. No thinning out nothing. Every hairdresser tells me my hair is very thick. She just couldn’t care less wanted to finish as fast as she could so she could head back upstairs. Awful salon.

   I always love my time spent at Melanie Giles, always leaving with a great cut and colour. I’ve introduced my mum and now my daughter who both love their cuts too. Thanks to Halley for a lovely head massage and a great blow dry. I highly recommend this great team.

   Similar to other bad reviews.. used to be a great cut, experience and atmosphere. I’m wondering if they now just call people experienced after their training is complete. Had a cut with a senior stylist £64, wonky fringe, not what I asked for, much too shout, not really a style, just hacked. I was generally just really upset about it. Couldn’t even tie it up to try and forget about it because the fringe looked so silly. Phoned and spoke to Jess on reception who was so lovely. Came back in with someone more senior who just looked at my hair and also questioned what the previous person had done. Obviously all she could do was cut it shorter but naturally, I wasn’t very happy about having so much less hair than I started with. They really need to give refunds in situations like this.
