We stopped off on the way to Dunbar. A very pretty harbour leading to a lovely soft sandy beach. Great for dogs and children alike. A nice walk along and safe for our dogs to run for a little. We only saw a take away van on the beach itself for food and ice-cream. Would visit again.

It's nice. There is a sandy floor play park that is fun for young kids. The promenade is pleasant but unfortunately there is a large works site next to the river. The harbour is lovely. It could do with more places to eat.

Definitely better than the beaches in Edinburgh. The waves are not huge and water remains warm in the summer time, ideal for a weekend dip in the sea. Only issue is the dirt and sea weed, thatβs scattered all around the beach. Remains less crowded and ideal for picnic/bbq. Lots of options for car parking.

My first time in Musselburgh I came up from England (via the A701 scenic route through Moffat) to attend a funeral in Kirkliston but was too early so I diverted to Musselburgh Promenade. I walked down to the delightful little Fisherrow Harbour and later drove further along to the Promenade at Portobello Beach. I love the grand houses and red sandstone apartments overlooking or near the sea front. It looked like a lovely place for a long walk with or without a dog. There are some interesting placards explaining the history and view points. I walked round both sides or the harbour looking closely at how the yachts are moored in the defined βmooring fieldβ. This is pleasant place a step away from Leith and, of course, busy Edinburgh. BTW the roads towards South Queensferry from here were a nightmare. So much poorly planned roadwork.

Brilliant peaceful place with a lovely beach either side of the small marina. Petrol station good for supplies and toilet plus a public toilet by marina in carpark. There's a cafe which opens at 9am and has lovely offerings and coffee. Friendly people everyone was warm and welcoming. Will definitely be going back to experience again.

Musselburgh was a great spot to enjoy this lovely sunny day. Everyone was social distancing. The sea is clean without any litter. Is nice spot to take children. There is also a wee van that sells drinks and food if not there is always Lidl in 5 minutes away.
