I had an extremely distressing and traumatizing experience with Equity Law Solicitors and specifically with Nicola Pascoe, who handled my family court case from Dec 23 – Jun 24 . Below are the significant issues I faced: 1. Lack of Communication and Responsiveness: Despite my repeated requests for written communication due to my hearing impairment, Nicola rarely adhered to this, causing unnecessary stress and confusion. She rarely responded to my written emails and messages. 2. Severe Delays and Mishandling of Court Orders: Nicola failed to provide critical documents, including court orders, in a timely manner. For example, I waited months to receive a draft order, which significantly differed from what we had agreed upon during the first hearing. When I objected to the court order, Nicola confirmed that she went to the notes received by email from the barrister Nadia Zaman and she confimerd that she addressed my concerns to the court in a written email. Nicola offered inconsistent justifications for the delay, such as citing a bereavement involving the barrister, Nadia Zaman, and claiming she had contacted Romford Family Court to address the discrepancies. These delays caused unnecessary stress and ultimately led to the judge trying to penalize me for late submissions. 3. Poor Legal Advice: Nicola suggested that I bring my mother as a witness. However, I later discovered that the court does not accept witness statements from close relatives, making this advice ultimately unhelpful for my case. 4. Missed Deadlines and Mishandling of My Case: My statements, witness arrangements, and other critical tasks were either delayed or never completed. This caused serious setbacks in my case, leaving me unprepared for hearings. 5. Refusal to Cooperate with Other Solicitors: When I sought alternative legal representation, Nicola refused to cooperate with my new solicitors, further complicating my case. 6. Nicola advised me to bring my mother from abroad to act as a witness. Once she arrived in the UK, Nicola arranged several appointments with an interpreter at her office, but each time, she canceled the appointment on the same day while we were en route, citing that the interpreter felt the Legal Aid rate was insufficient. Despite my repeated follow-ups for a new appointment, she continued to cancel without providing an alternative. Nicola promised to write to the court to request an extension for submitting the witness statement, but this never happened, putting me in a critical position before the court. 7. For the first hearing session in January, Nicola hired a barrister named Nadia Zaman from 3 Bolt Court Chambers. Instead of focusing on the child arrangement case, the barrister intervened inappropriately, suggesting I reconcile with my ex-husband and even discussing unrelated personal matters, like showing me photos of her teenage son!! 8. After I filed an official complaint with SRA, Nicola misrepresented key facts in her response. There are many other points that I will cover in another review due to exceeding character limitation. Their unprofessionalism has caused me significant distress and allowed my ex-husband to manipulate the court process further, falsely blaming me for delays and requesting the court to penalize me. As someone with a hearing impairment, I felt unsupported and disrespected throughout the process. I cannot recommend this solicitor or the company ad they failed to handle my complaint, to anyone seeking reliable and professional legal representation. My experience has been deeply traumatic, and I hope this review helps others avoid similar hardships.

Leydi Estrada Ruiz was amazing throughout my case. She was super professional, easy to talk to, and really knew her stuff. Her support was incredibly important during what was a very emotionally nerve wrecking time for me. I felt truly supported every step of the way, and her dedication made all the difference. I can't recommend her enough—an absolutely outstanding experience

Had a telephone appointment set up with them, they never kept the appointment & now seem to have blocked me. My phone gets disconnected but my sons can get through. Didn’t respond to email either. Very odd and unprofessional for a law firm.

Terrible customer service. They push you from post to pillar. It feels more like a conveyor belt. I left them right at the end of our dealings and took my business somewhere else.

10/10 Experience from the moment I phoned, to the moment the job was done. Greg and the rest of the team at Equity Law Solicitors are extremely professional and friendly so you always feel comfortable. I was working under an extremely time sensitive issue which was no problem for Greg and the team. Highly Recommend!

I would give them 0 stars if I could. They were waste of time and money. On the first sight, the Google reviews and the first contact seemed ok. I had first doubts when Mr Greg Igbe demonstrated high lack of professionalism and concentration, when he was witnessing and validating documents - he forgot to stamp them, then he forgot to put the date on, at the end he forgot to let one of us sign the right document. The other solicitors (which were dealing with the Grant of Probate) had to send us documents back and we had to do everything again. However the highlight was the Letter of Intent (see picture attached), where the same Mr Igbe kept for weeks postponing meetings and delayed the final signatures for several reasons (no clear line or legally logical), but he was already paid (!). At the end he admitted in a text message, he would not feel comfortable with this case and he rather leave it (fair enough), but he would like to keep the money of course. Please see on the picture, he signed already as a witness for one person, and stamped already for the second one (which is illegal to do so!) and then he dropped everything. I would not recommend them after my experience with them. Working with them was a nightmare - thank God there are many others. If I would have got at least my money back, I would spared them the bad review...
