I do not normally leave reviews but the level of service (if you can call it that) my family received was incredibly upsetting and stressful and the aftermath we had to deal with whilst Mr Gerstein rides off into the sunset looking for his next victim is totally unacceptable! The fees that were quoted originally changed more than once and there were a couple occasions where my family were contacted by the firm to inform them of extra charges they didn’t initially account for!!!! Meanwhile trying to contact anyone from the firm requires a lot of patience and a lot of time! Unless they are trying to reach you for another new charge they didn’t account for! Laughable if wasn’t true! I hope this review not only helps others not to go through the ordeal my family went through but also I hope this may encourage Mr Gerstein to improve the way his firm operates.

Our family engaged the services of Scornik Gerstein to handle a transaction in Spain. Our experience overall was rather unpleasant in dealing with Mr. Antonio Arenas, who also happens to be Managing Partner. The quality of work, strategies adversely affecting our position, lack of communication and surprise fees were all part of the woeful experience. We found the firm to be highly unprofessional in handling our case and even when we came to making a complaint, a lack of impartiality was evident to us. From our experience, the focus of this firm seemed to be centred primarily on financial gain, rather than mitigating unnecessary expenditure for their clients. The initial fee estimates along with the updated fee estimate were totally misjudged by the firm and having far exceeded their fee estimates, very little significant work was done. By the time we decided to find new representation, we were out of pocket a significant amount of money and effectively were not materially closer to having our transaction completed, or even at the next phase. The new lawyers we found were courteous, communicated well and kept to their initial fee estimates. Having dealt with numerous law firms in the past, I must say this was the poorest experience I have had to date. I strongly recommend the Managing Partner to consider the level of service he is offering and take on board the customer feedback, as clearly, others are not satisfied with their experiences and their appears to be a recurring theme.
