I am a pensioner and try to save a few pounds each month to treat myself to perfume or cosmetics.I went into Boots Dunfermline to buy some Angel perfume.Stood at perfume counter but no one serving. Went to checkout and assistant came to serve me with perfume. Asked her for Angel which was on offer. She was chatting to me about who in her family wears it. She brought perfume out of cabinet, put purchases through till, still chatting to me,I paid and put purchases in bag. When I got home,I put purchases in bedroom, then went to collect grandson. The next morning,I started to open cellophane ,when I noticed I had been sold Angel Elixir which I do not like nor wear. I went back to Boots with receipt and perfume, but was told because cellophane was opened they could not sell it so would not exchange it. Sales assistant just said sorry but they could not do anything. This was Boots employee that made the error, not me. I am being punished for assistant's lack of attention even though the packaging is exactly the same, the assistant should have ensured that she was selling me what I asked for. I now have used my savings and don't even have perfume I like. I will not spend 1p of my savings in Boots ever again

A common problem these days, this store is drastically understaffed. One person on the perfume counter also serving customers at makeup counter. People standing and waiting without even an acknowledgement from the staff member just to say she’s seen you and she will be there as quick as she can. When she did finally serve me she took payment and left my items on her side of the counter and walked away leaving me to reach over.Stores used to be grateful for your custom now your chewed up and spat out

Very poor customer care. Went in to collect my prescription today at 1.45pm and was rudely told to come back at 2pm as they were closed until 2pm. Went back at 2pm and noticed that their clock was slow, showing 3 minutes to 2 but checked my phone and it was 2pm. Rudely told to wait another 5 minutes as the pharmacist was in a meeting. Decided to serve me when their clock was showing 2pm and surprisingly enough it was still the same 2 rude females. I will now pick up my prescription from another pharmacy.

I had lost my inhaler so went in here to get an emergency one - where I totally understand due process and so on but to be asked to prove that I am asthmatic by showing “a picture of the box of the last inhaler” is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I honestly felt like a criminal “the great inhaler heist of 2024”. Perhaps a little less attitude and more empathy would go a long way irrespective of if I’m a regular or not . Even after all was confirmed by my regular pharmacy (i wasn’t able to call them myself as “they” were unable for me to hand my phone to them ? Total nonsense - I was told to wait as they were really busy even though it was very obvious I was having trouble breathing. The women I dealt with was beyond unprofessional and the whole process was unpleasant. 2 stars is simply because “eventually” they realised I wasn’t some form of international fraudster and handed me the inhaler. “I have taken a picture of the box I case in asked next time”

Places to go if you are in Kingsgate shopping centre in Dunfermline. This Boots is not massive like princess Street Edinburgh but has its own perks.

Had my eye test a couple of weeks ago and was advised I needed new glasses. I have been going to Boots opticians for a good number of years and have always found all the staff to be friendly and knowledgeable. There are a large range of frames to choose from and all sorts of options for lenses. Boots are a little more expensive than others but any issues with your glasses are addressed immediately and minor repairs are carried out free of charge.
