High loan rates. Low dividends payments and you need to pay extra if you want a quick withdrawal of your money. My bank gives me better loan rates and higher interest on my savings. I can withdraw my money when I need it right away with no change. Glasgow credit union is a joke.

Patchy customer service...good re. Savings/loan applications, but I heard nothing re. re-mortgaging enquiry. Beware of believing that the GCU will offer a more understanding approach to risk than commercial lenders. Unless you have an excellent credit rating (mine was good on Experian) do not apply for a car loan as you will be declined and your score will take a hefty knock. The 'appeal' is a nice GCU employee reiterating why you've been declined.

Don’t waste your time, refused a mortgage for not meeting lending criteria when you meet the lending criteria they advertise on their website; offered mortgages through a broker for every provider going, but not GCU, odd. The worst part is they make you waste your time joining up and setting up an account (that you then need to cancel), uploading lots of paperwork, only then to be dumped for nonsense.

Great organisation, I have been a member for over 25 years and they have help with holidays, buying my first flat, my wedding and so much more! Lovely friendly, helpful staff. Still live in hope of getting that phone call to say, your our big lottery winner!! One day maybe

I have been with Glasgow Credit Union from the first day it started in a basement office within the city chambers offices with 2/3 staff members. I’ve always been treated courteously and confidentially by members of staff whenever I’ve had to contact the office. The CU has come a long way since those first days and has managed to move along with the times offering more financial products. Its so easy to save / withdraw your money and the app that was developed makes it so easy to see and do certain things on your account.

I have been a member for 30 years and love the credit union. Over the years all of my home improvements and vehicles have been funded by loans from here, because they are so much better than any other loans. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the online site is very easy to negotiate. I will remain a member for life, thank you to all.

To be clear I have never been to the Glasgow Credit Union, but I like the building it's housed in which used to be the COOP offices for the whole of the UK and dates back to a time when the COOPs grandeur and power was epitomised by their Headquarters. Now housing offices and shops this grand building is arguably the best on the south side of the river
