Absolutely amazing experience this afternoon with my daughter getting her nails done for christmas. So much skill put into what she asked for. 5 massive stars from us, and a big thank you

I have given them 3 stars, because there is room for improvement, it’s definitely value for money, the receptionist can do better by smiling and be very welcoming and more pleasant. Overall the job was wasn’t bad, I had shellac. Places to improve, is customer service, I think language barrier does play a big part, they wasn’t rude but I feel better communication is key and can definitely improve, the person that was dealing with me couldn’t speak English. I found that the technician didn’t have attention to detail when applying the product and I had to tell them multiple times to cover the gaps and bubbles. They don’t use bond before applying the base coat, I found that when applying the cuticle oils they don’t rub in, they just leave you to do the job, hand cream isn’t offered. I found on the toes they don’t prep the cuticles before applying the shellac, I was expecting the cuticles to be pushed back at least, however, they did push the cuticles back on the hand nails so didn’t see why not on the toes. Timing isn’t punctual, for example they run over, mine was 20 minutes late, they over book they don’t have value for time, and they do rush off as they need to jump to next client, very robotic. They did have a tea and coffee machine but they didn’t offer considering I was waiting a long time. They are not good at giving advice on colours or helping you out with choices, communication is poor. I hope Alivia can take this feedback and improve in those areas, as I feel it would do them so much good, I didn’t have a problem as such, except for minors, but I hope they can up there game which will make them so much better. I would recommend this place as it is value for money. if they take the feed back as a positive it would improve their business. Also some advice, maybe eating on the counter isn’t professional all I can hear was crunching on food. Maybe have short breaks to eat in the back. Overall, my nails were ok and if you are looking for a quick stop then this is place.

Honestly had the best experience getting my nails done, Ling was amazing- not only was she super fast but really knowledgeable and helped recommend how to keep my nails as natural as possible but still having the length I wanted. First time going here and I will definitely be back, so happy with the results and saw the girl who was before me- she got the most incredible nail art done. Felt a bit boring picking French manicure when I saw how fabulous Ling was doing nail art haha. Really good value too. Very happy all round. Will be back.

I was a walk in customer. Amy was doing my infills and regular color (not shellac) when she found out I don’t want shellac she had such an attitude, huffing and puffing applying my chosen color. Talking under her breath to her colleague in a tone that could be understood without the need to speak her language. Then when a drying machine was put out, one of the nails got smudged. I’ve requested to repaint and she debated saying she will put extra layer on top. It came out uneven. When I requested again to repaint she said “this is your fault not mine, I put extra layer” - almost shouting. Also she used a different shade of the color. When I I pointed that it’s the wrong shade she of course started arguing back.. so I have one nail that is visibly different to the rest. The only good thing she did is the infills. I left quite shocked and upset. I obviously still paid in full , but really shocked by the service and rudeness of this particular nail technician. I have been at Alivia before and the service and outcome was always great. However, after my last experience I don’t think I want to ever come back. I felt like I’m such a nuisance and Amy is doing me a massive favor by delivering mediocre service for the full amount of money I’ve paid. I am considering to go and repaint my nails to a different place. I have definitely reviewed the right salon. If the nail specialist who did my nails lied about her name when I asked after the situation happened that puts integrity of this salon even in worse situation.

A fairly large shop, so spacious feel. Seems clean, and they use clean tools. Had lovely cup green tea. I should learn the language.

I had an appointment on Monday 28th August (bank holiday weekend) that I booked a month in advance. When I turned up the salon was closed and no one was answering the phone or responding to my Facebook messages. I’m guessing they were closed for the holiday but no one bothered to call me to let me know even thought they booked me an appointment.

My first time here after my regular nail lady from another business moved away. There was only one lady working as it is Lunar New Year, she did rush through as clearly double booked, and despite the rushing, my nails weren’t immaculate but they look really lovely. She was very kind, polite and sweet. There was a vast choice of colours and styles and she really did do her best with the circumstances and as a very picky nail customer, I think she did a really lovely job. Can’t wait to come back when there is less pressure and rush. As a discerning nail lady, I do recommend. Thank you!
