   Really disappointed with my experience at Toolstation Yate. The staff were rude and completely unhelpful — no smiles, no greeting, just blank, miserable faces like I was inconveniencing them by walking in. I left feeling like I’d done something wrong just for trying to shop there. Won’t be going back.

   I don’t have high expectations from shops like this, but basic customer service should be a given. You walk in and the lady at the counter will completely ignore you, like you’re not standing right in front of her. If you work in customer service, learn how to greet a customer who walks through your door because without customers you wouldn’t have a job.

   I’ve visited this store twice in the last month, and both times left very disappointed (and empty handed)! First time, when asking the female member of staff about one of their products, I was told “don’t ask me anything about what we sell, just treat us like Argos, as I don’t know anything”! Then yesterday, I thought I’d try one last time and asked a male member of staff about what sizes of masking tape they sell, at which point he pushed a catalogue in front of me and said “have a look in there and give me the part number you want”! Basically, if your looking for any help or advice, this is definitely not the place to go! I went over the road to one of their competitors, who were both extremely knowledgeable and helpful!

   Not often I post a review but I just had to share the excellent service I have had in this branch over last few weeks. Every time I have been served by George who is an example to your customer service and friendly team. I have been going to Screwfix and here for my bathroom project. Mainly used Screwfix as easier to choose what I want on the app, when I have needed extra help and advise I have come to here. George even told me today that an app was coming soon. He is always friendly and chatty and gives extra into serving his customers. Please send on my thanks as he really has been a superstar!
