   Hate leaving this review because I have always loved this jewellery shop and bought from them for years. But at Christmas my son with money saved from his first job wanted to buy me a ring or necklace so I took him in here asked to see a ring then asked about necklaces at the budget he had, I wasn't expecting diamonds and tried to state this quietly so my son didnt hear,, i know gold is expensive, his budget was high enough for plenty that was displayed in the window...but she went to another young girl cut in on her conversation while she was serving someone told her my budget they had a laugh about it together , needless to say I bought nothing ,and neither did the other lady who was being served ,she caught up with me outside and told me her server had went off in conversation twice while she was being served .... its a shame because this really was the best jewellery shop but its lost now the atmosphere is not welcoming the way it used to be

   What a first class service enquired about rings being rhodium dipped staff took them from me and completed within an hour. Also have purchased jewellery in the past and fantastic quality and has stood the test of time. Highly recommend excellent staff .

   In May I went to John Stewart’s for a quote on having the main diamond put back in my engagement ring. I paid £175 to have the claws re tipped on the Monday and phoned them to see if it was ready on Thursday - it was, great. Collected it on my day off on the Saturday and when I got home I realised there was a small diamond missing from the shoulder next to the claw, further inspection I noticed there were 2 gouges out of the shoulders just below the main diamond. I returned on the Monday to have it corrected, the woman couldn’t have been ruder. Took it away and said they need to send it to be fixed. Got a call it was ready 2 days later collected it again at the weekend and it was ‘repaired’. Small diamond replaced and one of the gouges filled but still 1 gouge not… said ‘sorry this is still damaged’ same ignorant woman marches in to the back to the ‘jeweller’ and came back and said ‘they don’t touch that bit when they do the claws’. My response was ‘well I never handed it in like that, it’s a platinum ring it’s solid gold and not easily damaged’ she looked at me blankly. I said ‘never mind, I’ll take it where I got it from and see if they can fix it’. Mr Harold and son in the argyle arcade couldn’t have been more helpful, they took my ring for a polish for £55, the ring was ready the next day and the gouge filled, and the claws tipped properly as their jeweller said it was an awful job and not a single claw was the same. Lesson learned, if you have expensive jewellery, don’t leave it at John Stewart. I would have argued my case but I didn’t want to leave my ring with them any longer than they already had it. I’m not usually one to complain or write reviews but I was really disappointed this was my family’s go to jewellers for our yellow gold.

   Great jewellers with wide selection of stuff. Staff and owner very friendly and helpful with what I was in for left with the knowledge that I'll be going back and not to return Jewellery, but to get some cleaned up and other ones fixed. Couldn't have been more helpful if they tried folks.

   Terrible experience, went to buy a nominations bracelet at John stewarts and decided that it wasn’t that pretty when I got home. I went to return the jewellery and there is a no refund policy within the company only an exchange or credit note. Even warren James does returns. Unfortunately I won’t be shopping at John stewarts again and highly don’t recommend it due to the poor approach the girls in the shop had
