   It seems my experience of being contacted shortly after having processed my insurance (through comparethemarket.com) for a higher premium isn't unique to me, and clearly this is a racket they're running successfully. Unfortunately for me it was the first time I'd insured a van so I didn't know better. Now they're sending me two letters a week and ringing me every other business day to try and get me to renew my policy despite me telling them I don't want to renew. Leave me alone and maybe I'll add a star out of relief.

   AVOID! I've been a customer for 3 years now, but you only ever find out how good a company is when you actually need them, had an accident which is stressful enough, called to inform and was met with nothing but poor customer service, and bad attitudes! AVOID

   Be aware - this company miss sells their products - Yesterday we accepted the quote put forward by Van Quote Direct on GoCompare - this was by no means the cheapest quote but it suited what we needed so we proceeded with the purchase of the policy - we paid the deposit of £438 and then set up a direct debit for the remaining instalments. This morning we received a call stating that the policy we had purchased was a two car policy and that because we had only one car insured this policy was not valid - and this was going to cost another £200 . No where on the GoCompare screen was it made clear that this was a two car policy - It was advertised as standard van insurance and nothing more - the sales rep also stated that we kept the vehicle on the road when I clearly stated it was kept in locked business premises. - the sales rep spoke to my OH and tried making it out that this was my fault - women, eh? as I had completed the details on line . We will not be using this company again, I do not recommend this company and if you read the reviews this company has you will see that we are not the only people to have had this exact same experience - do not use

   Should be able to put 0 stars!! After receiving a phone call couple days after signing up after paying my initial deposit. They made out I lied on some of my personal data. The member of staff told me over the phone that I had filled in the fields incorrectly, which obviously I did not! How he spoke was disgusting. Absolute scam never had insurance problems like these. I would avoid!!!

   Absolutely unprofessional, had put correct information on my quote and then had a message to call and then the hidden extras appeared to the payments. When made a complaint and asked a manager for his full name he refused and said his name is Phil. Total disregard to the customers and treated you like dirt. Would not recommend MOTOR QUOTE DIRECT to any one STAY AWAY. They drain every last penny off you. Never dealt with anyone like it. Better off paying a bit extra with another insurer and have a professional service with great customer service. Something which MotorQuote (Bedford Insurance) has not got. Don’t even buy from them. You’ve been warned.

   What I liked about Bedford Insurance they do not automatically mark your account with auto re insure. Other companies I have insured with try their hardest to get you on auto reinsurance after first year. Also spoke to a chap that had been there many years, good sign.
