Please be warned. We suffered a massive leak that collapsed our kitchen ceiling over a year ago. I contested the undisclosed £10,000 excess for 'escape of water' on the block's AXA insurance policy at the First-tier Tribunal against the RMC (Azure Management Company Ltd). AXA insurance's argument: "We had originally advised that the complaint solely lay with the insurance broker. Upon further review I have determined that the excess on this policy was indeed proposed by the underwriters within AXA Insurance. However the terms of the policy, including all excesses, were proposed to St Giles who confirmed that the quote was accepted by the policyholder Azure Management Company Ltd." FTT Decision: "The Tribunal does not consider incurring the cost of a policy with a £10,000 excess was a reasonable outcome" "Fortunately, such a situation is contemplated by the Lease which at Schedule 6, paragraph 2.4 states: “If notwithstanding the extent of the risk and value as aforesaid the money receivable under such insurance shall be insufficient to meet the cost of the necessary works of the rebuilding repair or reinstatement then the deficiency shall be treated as a further item of expense under this Schedule recoverable from the tenants accordingly insofar as any such deficiency may relate to an excess limitation or exclusion under the terms of the Management Company’s insurance policy from time to time.”

Because seller sent me copy of invoice dated incorrect they denied my claim. But still kept policy live and took monthly payments. Avoid

WARNING: AXA Health Insurance – A Total Scam ⚠️ I trusted AXA with my health. I paid nearly £900 a year, around £80 every month for two years, believing I had full coverage if anything went wrong. I never imagined the nightmare that was coming. When I suffered strokes and severe heart problems, I expected AXA to provide care, as promised. Instead, I was met with outright abandonment. They had removed most of their services, including hospitals. For life-threatening conditions like mine, all they offered was a phone call with a doctor. That’s it. A phone call. No hospital care. No surgery support. Nothing. I was shocked, terrified, and furious. I had paid nearly £2,000 for protection I never received. I filed a formal complaint, hoping for at least a fair response. AXA offered me… £2. Yes, two pounds. When I questioned this, their justification was that it was based on their “lack of profits.” Think about it: two years of payments, thousands of pounds, and zero real help when I was critically ill. Thankfully, the NHS saved my life, but I will never forget how completely AXA failed me. And this isn’t just my story. AXA were featured on BBC’s Rip Off Britain, leaving a fully insured single mother in hospital with a £65,000 medical bill. They advertise security and protection, but when it matters most, they abandon their customers completely. If you are even considering AXA, beware. This is not insurance – it’s a scam. Don’t trust them with your health, your money, or your life. I survived. But many others might not. Don’t let AXA gamble with your life.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They will cause you immeasurable stress, drawn out over years whilst they avoid what they're paid to do in the event of a claim. They are more than happy to leave a family in a dangerous and hazardous environment whilst they simply ignore any pleas for help.

AXA UK Travel Insurance Promised Protection – Delivered Misery I’ve never made a travel insurance claim before in my life. I truly believed insurance was there to protect you when the worst happens. But after 7 months of battling with AXA Travel Insurance, I feel worn out, let down, and frankly, like I’ve been treated as the problem instead of the person in need. My nightmare started in December 2024, when I caught Covid and a chest infection days before a long-planned, once-in-a-lifetime trip to New York. It was a birthday gift for my partner’s 40th — flights, hotel, and New Year’s Eve event tickets all non-refundable. I was devastated. But I had travel insurance, so I filed a claim. That was over half a year ago. It’s now late June 2025. And despite sending medical evidence, test results, invoices, and even giving AXA full consent to contact my GP (which I submitted on 14 April 2025), they’ve still not settled my claim. In fact, I only discovered — through my own call to them on 18 June — that they never even sent the request to my GP until that very day. Nine weeks they sat on it. Before that, on 8 April, I was told they had everything they needed and I would receive a final decision by 22 April. That never happened. I’ve called. I’ve emailed. I’ve raised two formal complaints. In response, AXA offered vague sympathy but ultimately blamed me for not sending information they failed to request properly. Then in their latest reply, they simply looped back to the beginning — demanding documents they had failed to act on — as if none of my prior efforts existed. This isn’t just poor service — it’s emotionally exhausting. I’ve spent 7 months chasing them while grieving a lost trip, absorbing financial losses, and now fearing I’ll never see a penny back. I feel treated like a liar, a nuisance, and a suspect, not a customer in need. I no longer feel safe booking travel, because I now know AXA won’t protect me. They’ve delayed, deflected, and dismissed me at every turn. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Please — do not trust AXA with your peace of mind. They’ve caused more stress than the illness that made me cancel the trip in the first place.

Brilliant company. I had a 2 year plus water leak problem and with the help of AXA I was able to get repairs done to my property.

Shockingly bad company that takes premiums and then makes it impossible to claim. We took out a landlord insurance policy and when we had an unfortunate roof leak, they were very difficult to contact to make a claim, every time I got through to someone - the computer system was "down" and when we eventually registered a claim, they said their surveyor had assessed the rebuild value to be an astronomically high amount that reduced the claim down to just a few quid more than the excess. A search of recent Ombudsman cases reveals that this is their typical practice and this company needs to be taken to task on the way they operate. Take your business elsewhere, when it comes to using your insurance this company will let you down more than you could imagine.

Awful experience. Do not use. Had my car stolen in October 2022 and my claim Still isnt dealt with completely despite Many email, calls etc to them. We are now about to go into Feb 2023! No communication from them. I complained which has done nothing. One person admitted and admitted that they had received all of my messages, emails etc but noone had replied to them and she would escalate it immediately for me with apologies.. Nothing since! Zero customer service.

Last July ( now December) I went to the USA with their travel insurance. I had to use medical services, I paid up front. I sent all the appropriate documentation and after 2 incredibly slow emails reply I still dont know if I will get paid back ever. The phone number they gave me is not working. This one on Google is not working either. They are next to criminal, no phone number on web site either. Avoid those scums at all costs! my policy GB1-22-108219

Best decision ever to take out health insurance with AXA! I chose the most comprehensive cover and it is still not as expensive comparing to Bupa or Vidality. Today I suffered some heaviness in my chest, panicked, calling the private GP service provided by AXA. The lovely nurse was extremely reassuring and easy to talk to, she took time to listen and explain my condition. Now I really wish I have taken out AXA earlier. Thank you everyone for helping me out!
