Just got off the phone from direct line now, been billed erroneously, called to complain. I was told twice that I was not allowed to raise a complaint unless I paid. Apparently no supervisors or managers in the building, "all in a meeting", felt I had no choice but to pay, so I paid, call handler said that "I'll investigate the complaint and get back to you" I asked for a copy of complaints policy and was told that " we don't have one". I said that are you sure there are no supervisors in the building, he said, no none at all, I said that I was going to email and ask for transcript of this conversation, are you 100% certain, bearing in mind that this call is being recorded that there are no supervisors, and low and behold a supervisor was found straight away. This is ridiculous, it's like a 2 bit scam company, never using them again. Supervisor had to be reminded that I was going to ask for a transcript of the phone conversation before he would raise my complaint with the complaints team, he initially didn't know anything about a complaints policy (when he was going to investigate it himself), but was then able to quote it verbatim a few seconds later when he realised he was being recorded by his own company. What a way to run a company-avoid!

As the CEO of our company, I place immense value on reliability, transparency and professional support and our experience with Direct Line for Business has consistently demonstrated all three. Working with them has been a genuine asset for our organisation. Their team has shown exceptional professionalism, clear communication and an impressive understanding of the specific needs that modern businesses face. What stands out most is their efficiency and responsiveness. Whether we had a routine enquiry or needed quick guidance, their support team always provided precise, helpful and timely assistance. The process has been smooth at every step, with clear explanations and a genuine commitment to ensuring that we felt informed and confident in our decisions. The combination of strong customer care, well-structured solutions and a proactive approach gives us peace of mind and allows us to focus on growing our business rather than dealing with unnecessary complexities. It is rare to find a service provider that aligns so well with a company’s values and priorities. I confidently recommend Direct Line for Business to any organisation seeking dependable, professional and high-quality support. It has been an excellent partnership that continues to deliver real value to our business.

Emailed to say I did not want to renew my policy and cancelled the direct debit. Insurance taken with another company. Receive a letter stating that I owe them £77 even though I cancelled before renewal date. They are still adamant they want the £77 as they say I should have contacted them via WhatsApp or by phone. Could prove I sent them the email as well. Doesn’t even have a no reply email address. Complete waste of my time.

Direct line charging my card after requested to Not renew was confirmed a month prior I requested at the start that my insurance will end at the end of contract and not renew. I checked this was they case which they confirmed. one month before they called me for the renewal I spoke to them and told them I changed address and confirmed again that the insurance would not renew. which they did, but today they sent me a email saying that I have renewed my insurance? I try the AI for hours but it keeps sending my to the call centre, but they only deal with car insurance. I try again and go in the loop of being sent back to the car insurance, thinking they have sent me to the business insurance. again its the wrong place. car insurance but they only tell me that after I give them all my information multiple times to the AI and all the people I talk to. an absolute nightmare and hours of communication, but 6pm passes and I will have to start the whole process tomorrow morning. they should not be allowed to renew my insurance against my will. I send them the bill for the hours of lost work chasing up Direct line to do what they confirmed they had. I will never use them again. what a cheap trick. I wonder how many people don't realise they ignore your request to Not renew

After several years with DL business insurance they have advised they will no longer insure businesses that are close to or part of transport undertakings! So no insurance at stations airports bus stations etc why? Also gave me 2 days to get insurance cover elsewhere

My wife obtained a Landlord insurance quotation from Direct Line for a premium of £662, whereas Allianz quoted £319 for the same coverage and HDI through confused quoted £267 for higher limits. We approached Direct Line to match and sent through the policy wording and key facts in PDF format along with screenshots of the premiums and limited (all that I could obtain) but Direct Line refused to match or beat the quote citing they needed PDF copies of everything. I worked in insurance for nearly 30 years and can confirm they have everything they needed to consider. Shop around, much better prices for the same coverage available elsewhere. Also, the customers service was poor, We had to resend the information through several times as the customer service representative gave me incorrect email addresses and then we had to chase up again as my wife's email was lost in the ether! Avoid.

Seem to have really gone downhill (they used to be good). You can't cancel your 'Automatic renewal' on the website, it just takes you round and round in circles. Takes ages to do it on the phone. Also, never received a refund from the Mileage Moneyback scheme.

becareful of accepting anything they offer during a discussion. They will push other companies onto you and they state that it was your decision to choose: courtesy car companies directline send around , no thats a hire car you appointed, repairs companies Directline use....not that was your company. If the third party doesn't pay all of the costs you can find out that you were individually responsible numerous bills. dont trust their handlers they promise and say things that are not true.
