On 29th November 2023, I was involved in a road accident with my motorbike. My insurance was with Markerstudy, on a fully comprehensive policy with free legal cover up to £100,000. After reporting the accident, I was told my bike would be collected by their appointed garage, only to be told later that the garage couldn’t work on my type of bike. From there, it became a constant struggle to get any updates. Every time I phoned, I was told the third party hadn’t responded, and until they accepted liability, “nothing could be done.” Despite me providing evidence, including legal cover that should have been used, nothing progressed. Six months later, my bike was still sitting at home, unusable. I was paying my insurance premium while also paying for public transport. Eventually, they passed the responsibility on to me, asking for repair estimates — but no garage could source the parts. After raising a complaint, I was given a small compensation, and they declared the bike a total loss. The payout wasn’t great, but worse, they added a “fault” claim against me and deducted a year from my no claims bonus. If I hadn’t had it protected, I would have lost it entirely. I was also injured in the accident, which should have given them more reason to fight on my behalf — but they didn’t. Since they failed to act, I instructed a private solicitor. On 21st August 2025, my case went to court. The judge awarded 100% in my favour. My solicitor recovered the bike’s value, something my insurer hadn’t managed in nearly two years. And here’s the ironic part: even after my solicitor did their job for them and won the case outright, Markerstudy still refused to update my no claims record, claiming the “file was still open” while they chased their own costs. I suppose I should have asked my solicitor to recover all of their costs for them too, since they clearly couldn’t be bothered to do their job from start to finish. To summarise: Markerstudy did nothing to support me, failed to use the legal cover included in my policy, and left me to fight the case myself. Their incompetence cost me time, money, and unnecessary stress. No matter how cheap they appear on comparison sites, I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

I was hit by a van who drove across a road from a driveway - the collision was not my fault and wrote off my new car. Both vehicles were insured by Markerstudy. After 2 years if chasing, Markerstudy forced a 50:50 responsibility descision, despite it clearly not being my fault . They did this because, and I quote, "they don't take themselves to court".

Avoid at all costs – terrible customer service and unprofessional handling of no-fault claims. Our car was involved in a no-fault accident, yet Geoffrey Insurance (underwritten by Markerstudy) treated us from day one as if we were the ones to blame. Their customer service is appalling — you get bounced from one department to another, with no one taking responsibility or offering any real help. The claims process has been a nightmare. We were given an unrealistically low valuation of our vehicle, thousands of pounds below its actual market value, leaving us out of pocket through no fault of our own. No one in their Customer Relations team was willing or able to help — the attitude we received was dismissive, unprofessional, and borderline accusatory. It felt like we were being punished for making a claim we didn’t cause. Due to their unacceptable behaviour and complete lack of support, we have now raised the matter with the Financial Ombudsman. I strongly advise anyone considering Geoffrey Insurance or Markerstudy to think twice. Read the reviews, understand how they treat their customers, and take your business elsewhere. You’ll thank yourself later.

Whilst I’ve had issues with the company the staff are very helpful and are genuinely trying to help. Shabeeha was great with helping me sort out issues along with the mechanic on the phone, whilst the whole situation has been terrible the staff have certainly helped make it better. She deserves a raise and will take this company far.

Worst customer experience ever. Left me suicidal stranded on the side of the road after promising one thing (on a recorded phone call which the ombudsman will find very interesting) then doing something completely different. Ended up having to pay for my car to be recovered privately after several hours of trying to get through to markerstudy and constantly being cut off and having to start again. This is the worst “customer service” ever, a total breach of contract and I’ve already contacted the ombudsman to file the strongest possible complaint

I was recently in an accident with another driver who has this company for his insurance. The claim filing process has been seamless and they’ve been great about communicating with me at every step. Really appreciate the effort they’ve been putting in and how kind their reps are to me, especially considering that I’m not even one of their customers. Not sure if it’s a sales tactic or not, but if I ever have to switch insurance for whatever reason, I’d definitely consider coming over to Markerstudy because of the good impression they’ve made on me so far.

Had to file a claim recently and I was so nervous! This is my first car accident I’ve been in ever. Even though I wasn’t at fault, I’ve heard so many horror stories from friends that I wasn’t sure how it was going to go. I’m so glad that all my fears turned out to be entirely unfounded. One of the reps at MG took care of everything, told me what to sign and when and gave me a run down of all the information they needed and even explained why which made me feel a whole heck of a lot more comfortable. My premium didn’t even end up going up! I’m so glad I have my insurance through them. I feel so bad for all of my friends who have had such awful experiences with their insurance. I keep telling them to switch but nobody listens to me. Hopefully someone reading this review takes my advice and makes the switch, because trust me it’s worth it.

The only reason I'm giving one star is because there is no mechanism to leave no stars. These people are utterly appalling to deal with. I submitted a claim for my motorbike which got written off in an accident. Even thought I only bought my bike 12 weeks ago from a dealer, they have offered me half what I paid for it. I have submitted a considerable quantity of evidence to support my claim, but they are now playing pass-the-parcel over the problem with co-part, who have come up with the valuation. You will routinely hold for 45 minutes before having your time wasted by someone who will just fob you off with a load of flannel. I told the last operative it spoke to that I wanted to take them to a small claims court, and was told that they didn't know who to write to or what address for service of papers. I posted a review on another website and customer services piped up to say that an operative would be in touch today. Have they..... you've guessed it - silence. No matter, I now have their address in Sevenoaks (which their telephone operatives declined to give me) and will be serving papers there. Avoid these people at all costs.

Currently have a motor trade policy with them. Well, I for one will state that these are by far the worst and most invasive insurance company provider I've been with to date. They are constantly up in your face demanding information about every vehicle that seems to pass through their trade policy. The whole point of a trade policy is so we have flexibility in adjustments to vehicles, removing cover on and off when needed and to cancel out admin time and costs. I'd highly recommend staying clear, the aggro is not worth the cheaper premium.

It's been over a year since my insurance claim has been resolved, had a non fault incident and now have a claim against me that was never disclosed to me. Every time I have been assured that I would be given an update towards my claim within the next two week but never once within this whole year have I. I have now tried to recently get a hold of them and gotten through to hold and have waited an hour the have to have been put back to the automated voice system. After all the holding they have then proceeded to hang up on my call. I will be seeking elsewhere for proper advice and help.
