Following on from the review below, as the original poster is unable to reply directly to Mama’s Hub’s response, we are providing our reply here. The reason this was posted here is because there is no direct website or dedicated platform to raise concerns about the food aid scheme, and this profile is the closest point of contact linked to it. Can you direct me to the appropriate place to post this review about the food aid? If you’re saying the scheme is not aimed at low-income families, then it is confusing that the mission for Surplus Champs refers to helping “hungry residents.” Hunger is very often a symptom of low income, so the messaging does not seem to align with what is being stated here. Regarding the “investigation,” no genuine investigation took place. Simply accepting the volunteer’s explanation and take their word over ours, cannot reasonably be described as an investigation. It comes across as dismissive and raises understandable questions about accountability. The volunteer in question has her own cameras and could provide footage if she wished to clarify matters. The fact that no such effort has been made only raises suspicions. We have not made assumptions, we have raised concerns based on clear, repeated events that we have evidence of. Your intentions to divert attention from a very serious situation, where the only concern is that a charity volunteer is acting inappropriately, are quite obvious. There's no denying that this volunteer has acted very inappropriately.

What would you think if I told you that I have witnessed a volunteer, a so called “Surplus Champ”, part of the Mamas Bristol Food Aid Scheme, benefitting herself from the food aid and giving priority to close friends. The food aid is something that is supposed to be directed to low income families, vulnerable people and reduce waste/cost. A surplus champs’ sole mission is to feed hungry residents. In my opinion this is morally wrong, and could even be seen as fraud. When you act as a volunteer, you should do it with the whole intention to help other people, it should not be about saving money for yourself or letting your friends take the best food first. Where is the conscience in these evil people? It feels wrong, unfair, and completely against the purpose of a charity. This should be deeply investigated and the correct actions should be taken.

If you have a sen child I really recommend the Sen sessions once a month on Sundays. The atmosphere is nice. Kelsey who runs it is lovely. It’s great to be around people who are in a similar situation.

Booked 2.5h for Saturday birthday party. Variety of rooms fit great for newborns and toddlers (all we had). The sensory room was by far the best entertainment, followed by the ball pit. The rooms themselves were pretty well maintained and all the facilities were available. Our experience was quite self-served with no interaction with the staff (weekend) - provided with full instructions from arrival to the point of leaving. Great experience, would recommend for a 1yo birthday

Home of the Mamas Community Interest Company (CIC). A place for kids to just be kids.... sensory room, crafts room, imagination town (with dressing up), etc. Meanwhile, adults can have a coffee/tea and a chat with some of the amazing Mamas team. Can be booked for children's party's as well.
