I arrived frightened, worried and my mental health meant that I felt everyone was against me. The understanding of the support, medication and intervention I needed has genuinely put me on track to change my life for the better. The managment, staff, nurses have really understood my needs, given reassurance when needed. A positive experience of change and growth, with many Thanks to all on Blackwell Ward.

Was a patient 7-8 years ago and where some staff was fantastic.......sadly couldn't say that for the whole experience. Left with more ptsd then when I went in. An abusive staff member that intentionally restrained me unprofessionally with intention to cause pain. On this occasion, two staff was restraining me after an incident....one was restraining me professionally, the other intentionally pressing down on my knuckles ( knuckles was badly bruised and noticeably bandaged up ) despite me begging him to stop. This same disgusting human was homophobic towards a staff member and had a past history of being unprofessional to staff and patients yet nothing was done. Also discharged me before it was safe to do so due to a certain patient verbally saying fowl disgusting things about me in regards to s/a and me being gay. When I arrived they was informed about me switching between aggression and suicidal state so trying to bully me was going to get a reaction, but still discharged as the aggressor and all at fault. Literally gave me a panflet on eupd and sent me home even though it was unsafe to do so. I officially have 0 trust in the mh team in trying to help as can't be trusted not to make things worse. I left distraught and no where to turn too.

I was very daunted prior to going in for the 4 week program, but it was the best thing I have ever done. The therapy was intense but amazing, there wasn’t one session that I didn’t get something out of. The staff on Holbrook ward were phenomenal so caring and supportive and helped to create such a positive and safe environment. All of the staff were brilliant but a particular thanks goto Vernice, Beth and Kim. Thank you, a really positive, life changing experience.

I was recently an in-patient for 6 weeks on the general psychiatry programme after an episode of severe anxiety/depression. I found the staff took a well balanced approach and were very supportive. There was an extensive therapy program offered although the number of in-patients on the ward reduced to just 2 in my last week. For 1 week there was the maximum of 9 patients on the ward and for the other weeks there was around 4-5 on average. Having just 2 patients on the ward did reduce the helpfulness of the group nature of the group therapy. The low numbers may be due to the time of year, number of referrals or number of staff available. Standard of catering was quite variable dependent on who the chef was and what was on the menu. Sunday evening buffet was of poor nutritional value and very beige. The private in-patients had a different (better) menu to the staff which seemed a bit unfair. These points had been fed back several times by others over the course of my stay and may well be being addressed.

My therapist was Natasha Carr-Rouse, she is by far the best therapist I have seen. She was very empathetic and provided me with some great strategies for staying well in the future. My experience has left me feeling the best I have felt about myself in a very long time and even though I know life will throw many more challenges at me in the future, I am confident that I now have the resilience to handle them. Thank you Natasha

Well I am utterly shocked and very dissatisfied with the care ( Or should I say lack of). My brother was treated appallingly to the point that even his basic needs were not met ie food and drink when he was hungry sometimes at night there was nothing available for him depriving him of his liberty eventhough he was an informal patient. He was so distressed that he tried to escape and became quite challenging. Also no communication between them and the families and they also lie about things that are important. I trusted what my brother was saying. Please be aware of these people they clearly do not care and lack empathy. People need to stand up to these and report anything that is not up to standards so that this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Awful place. Wards are old and dirty. Way too small to accommodate patients on redcliffe ward. The psychiatrist on redcliffe ward is not interested in your well-being and will force you to take heavy duty medication. The permanent staff were lovely overall but the environment is not fit for purpose. I cannot believe how much money is made from NHS referrals to be placed like a caged animal.

This hospital allowed a patient to harass me from inside the hospital. I am not a patient . The patient targeted me via email whilst they were unwell. They harassed other people also . The Priory hospital allowed a patient named Gilli G from Cambridge to write emails to lots of people harassing me Gillian G managed to get away with things. The hospital managed to get away with things but I am still traumatized

I was taken n By a male nurse to a situation where I was put near an out of control male patient on purpose. I did not ask to leave my room. It felt strange to put into this intimidation on purpose by a male nurse. I often felt I was being used for there entertainment.

Priory Hospital rejected treatment to a friend of mine in 2021 who was suffering badly with borderline personality disorder. Less than a year later he killed himself after seeking help but being told he was too high risk. I wouldn’t trust this place, they clearly are more concerned with image rather than offering help to vulnerable people.
