We stayed at the Cavendish Hotel (great place) and when we were rained in one evening we decided to try the Mayfair Lounge & Grill in the hotel. The lounge is nice but pretty dull. The bar has seen better days but the bartenders did their best to compensate for that. However, the cocktails (more long drinks) aren’t very exciting and not worth the effort. Unfortunately the beer selection isn’t terribly rich either. The restaurant has a strange interior (also because it serves as the breakfast restaurant for the hotel); the chairs and tables seem out of place somehow. The menu is decent but when we visited on a Saturday evening some of the main courses were unavailable. The loud 80’s music is obnoxious and super annoying and really ruins the experience thoroughly. We will not come back to the Mayfair Lounge and Grill, even if we get rained in at the Cavendish Hotel.

We had the bottomless lunch with Prosecco and can honestly say we had a fabulous meal, as much Prosecco as we could drink (which was ice cold and excellent). The service was wonderful with a special mention to Jurata who brought ice and lime for our water without us having to ask. This was a gift from friends and we had the nicest couple of hours - thank you to the whole team.

We had the 3 course lunch with bottomless prosecco, a birthday gift from our children. I can honestly say that it was amazing from start to finish. The staff were attentive, the food was amazing, and the prosecco certainly flowed! We were made aware from the start that a few items on the menu were an additional cost to the voucher we had, however they were very reasonably priced and the vegetable portions were large enough to easily share between the 2 of us. A great birthday present!

I didn't know quite what to expect when I went there for a Red Letter Day 3 course meal with free flowing prosecco. I certainly was not disappointed! From the moment we entered, the staff were exceptional. They were all incredibly polite and welcoming. The food was delicious, and the portions were decent. As for the free-flowing prosecco, I honestly thought that there would be a catch, but they were incredibly generous with it! The restaurant was lovely inside, and once it filled up with some customers, there was a great atmosphere. The service was exceptional, and Amandeep in particular was incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend a visit!

Lovely lunch, 3 courses and free flowing prosecco.. delicious food, beautifully presented. Service on the whole was good but the food came out quite slowly. A great experience, just don't expect speed (sometimes a leisurely lunch is just what you want). We'll definitely be back!

Had 3 course dinner with champagne as a present from my sister (using buyagift). The food was absolutely delicious and the service first class. Thank you.

Me and my partner visited here and had an amazing time. All the staff was amazing. The place was absolutely spotless and the food was very tasty. Only downside was that was a little bit slow at pouring the Prosecco, but whenever we asked for more than more than happy to Poor.

We had the bottomless prosecco 3 course lunch. The service was great, our glasses was always topped up. The set menu was a little bit limited in choice, anything that sounded interesting was an extra cost and everything on the grill was an extra cost!! Seems a bit of a marketing stunt to lure you in and then charge more. The food we did order were all very well presented and tasty!

Very impressed with our 3 course Sunday lunch today. The manager accommodated my dietary requirement with a different starter, the roast sirloin was really good, the cauliflower cheese was one of the best I’ve had & the apple & pear crumble was divine. Yes service was at a leisurely pace but with the piano playing for the guests it was a relaxed setting to enjoy our lunch in. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff so I’d thoroughly recommend.

Not a good experience unfortunately- very mediocre at best. Went for an afternoon tea. Sandwiches were bland and thinly filled. No other savouries. Plain scones were not great - small and quite hard. Fruit ones were slightly better. Butter though was mouldy and we had to send the scone back that we hard started to butter when we discovered the mould. The replacement scone was much more fresh than the previous ones. The service was very poor - very little attention - forgot one of the teas, then couldn’t get attention to raise the issue of the mouldy butter. Then the staff really couldn’t care less that they had served mouldy food as if it was a regular occurrence! Couldn’t even get to speak to a manager to raise the issue with them. Not anywhere near the quality of other afternoon teas we have had in London. The Amphersand is far superior for example. Would not return to the Cavendish and puts me off staying there with their disregard of food hygiene.
