I would give 9/10, but 4/5 would be a bit too low, hence 5 stars. Our experience with health visits (during pregnancy and post-pregnancy) was very positive. We were a bit worried at first, as we thought it was a visit from a social worker. It turned out to be a great, intelligent lady who was very kind and helpful (this doesn’t mean that social workers aren’t great or intelligent. Just that it wasn’t them). We were looking forward to the last visit and to be honest we wished we had more. After the birth, she was also the first person who informed us about adding a vitamin D supplement for our little one (we already knew this (we learnt by accident), but no one had told us through the NHS). Before the final visit, we didn’t receive a confirmation text message (apparently they are no longer allowed to send those?!), which was a pity and inconvenient. Hence 9/10.

Website has been down for months and no one seems to even know. They are severely and I would suggest dangerously short staffed. The pressure on the staff that are there must be phenomenal. The service is cruelly underfunded and there has seemingly been no acknowledgment from central government that there is a need for more funding and support post pandemic for children. It’s truly shocking how the staff and children have effectively been abandoned to cope. One star rating is not a comment on the staff but on the service they are able to offer - they are trying hard under very difficult circumstances.
