Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The place is located 5 mins away from most of the attractions in central bath. It's relatively a nice place with vintage feeling and huge rooms. Some people might be skeptical since its an old building and requires a bit of maintenance/upgradation. There's a night club nearby and you might hear drunk people shouting at night. The TV did not have any cable. Would recommend to anyone looking forward to staying at Bath if you are not bothered by the above mentioned things.

Booked here weeks and weeks ago just for it to be cancelled with absolutely no explanation or direct communication from the hotel with just over a week to go before our stay. Have now been left trying to find alternative accommodation which is proving to be impossible without having to pay hundreds of pounds more. Worst thing is that they still have rooms available online for the same date so I have no idea why they have cancelled?

Nice sized room with lovely view but was very tired and filthy. Carpets dirty, bath had other ppls hair in No one on reception at night, so had issues getting key. Location is excellent, shame they don't keep it up to standard.

Do not stay here! My boyfriend booked this for our anniversary and though he'd pay a bit more to have somewhere nicer to stay. We should have saved half our money stayed in a clean travelodge. Bed was stained, curtains had stains on, no bulbs in lamps full of dust, no city views....the list goes on. We've stayed in much cheaper hotels/b&b's and had lovely rooms. Only positive was a good location.

If you plan on sleeping, DON'T stay here. Stayed here on a Wednesday night, the website and reception staff failed to mention that there is a night club below my room. The music and screaming drunk people didn't stop until 3am. Although the location is good and it was cheap, I would rather pay more for somewhere quieter.

This is the worst hotel I have ever been to. I can’t believe it’s allowed to stay open to be honest. It’s run down beyond belief. The insides are literally crumbling. Only one curtain was up that meant half the window wasn’t covered. The mattress was clearly very old and had sunk giving no support at all. The room itself had a severe slope to it. Felt like I was on a boat. The carpet was stained everywhere with God knows what. Windows didn’t fully close which meant you could hear everything outside. Bathroom was like something out of the Saw. Sockets weren’t fitted to the wall correctly. There was a hole in the wall. Strange white marks all over the bathroom floor. I could go on forever at how vile this place is. Felt like I needed a clean after getting out of the shower. On top of all that it is right next a nightclub that is open until 4am. The mammoth queue and smoking area for which Is just outside the hotel. I couldn’t hear myself think, let alone sleep. Worst £150 I’ve ever spent. I hope this place gets shut down ASAP. I’ll be reporting them.

Had a great stay here, the location was amazing and the staff are really friendly. Room was small but clean/comfortable. The hotel is a little dated but what do you expect from a grade ll listed Georgian building! Be aware bath has a large seagull population and you will here there wherever you are. We found them hilarious as they sounded like they were all chatting with even names one Steven!

The first word that entered my mind when we came through the double doors into the reception area was "worn". The hotel looked a bit past its prime, clean, but in need of a little "loving". Our room was the same, very clean, not "too" shabby, just a bit past "prime". Still the room had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was updated, and the front facing room had a view across the street to a lovely park and the river. The cathedral and Roman baths were very close by; we were in one of the most convenient locations in Bath. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and professionally cheerful. Though there is no restaurant in the hotel, the staff directed us to several good ones within easy walking distance. The continential breakfast was very sufficient and the steaming hot tea and coffee were excellent. Fancy, it isn't. But given the reasonable price for a premier location, the adequacy of the services, and the helpfulness of the staff, we were satisfied with our stay.

I was in utter shock when I arrived. Firstly the room was small and even on a mild day the room got very stuffy. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, chunks were missing from the walls, blood spatters, marks and scuffs everywhere. The door did not fit the frame so all the noise from other residents flowed through underneath the gap. The hairdryer that was given to us by the reception staff sparked and started smoking in my hand. The breakfast was substandard and only available from 8:15 - 9:30am at the weekend plus it was difficult to find a clean spoon and bowl. Please do not be drawn in by its location. Bath is a small City and everywhere is easy to get to by foot. This hotel needs to be closed down for complete refurbishment. They have clearly not invested any time or care in its upkeep for many years.
