We have just had a most enjoyable stay here. The pub is on a busy road and has a small car park behind it. It is around a 15 minute walk to the city, downhill, returning uphill of course and quite hard work! Our standard room (4) was lovely, of good dimensions, very nicely decorated and furnished with a good coffee machine. The en suite had a smart walk in shower. We enjoyed our evening meal of roast beef and turkey respectively and a bottle of wine. Breakfast was also excellent and plenty of it, my avocado and poached eggs on toast particularly nice. I was contacted in advance of our stay about an issue with the hot water system not working and by way of recompense offered free dinner and drinks, which we accepted. We were also allowed to use their car park on arrival in Bath. We very much enjoyed our stay and the minor hot water issue was dealt with particularly well. Highly recomended for a comfortable overnight stay in the lovely city of Bath.

The service and location to the Christmas markets was AMAZING, the staff were the nicest, the good in the restaurant was INCREDIBLE.....but......we had a beautiful suite and it smelled really musty and damp, the bath didn't work properly which I was very disappointed about as it was the main reason I booked the room was for the big stand alone bath! And also the bed wasn't very comfortable, definitely needs a new mattress. However the food and service absolutely outshined the small issues we had with the room, and management did communicate an apology!

Lovely weekend break away. Food was great. The breakfast was lovely and staff so friendly and welcoming. Location was great and only a 15 minute walk into the town centre. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here after finding it online. Car park for visitors. Perfect for popping on a bus into Bath city centre. Room was cosy and beautifully clean and modern. The bar downstairs had games to play and was busy in the evening, making the atmosphere fun. Would definitely visit again. Enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here a couple of times now. Fantastic service from the moment you arrive. Lovely rooms, great pub downstairs with entertainment, good food/drink selection and loads of board games you can take up to your room. Only a 15 min walk into the centre or a 5min taxi ride. Staff were fantastic. Will 100% stay again if we are back in the area.

A recent addition to the Casque-Mark Ale Trail and the reason for my visit. Much changed (for the better) since my last visit over 18 months ago. The bar and dining areas reconfigured into a more pleasing arrangement. The large white bear figure atop the porch at the entrance has been moved back. At one time, it leaned over the porch and dramatically looked as if swiping at patrons entering. But I digress, back to the beer. There were only two ale available at the time of visit and only one of these had been drawn off - the house 'Great Bear' 3.9%abv source, Greene King. A big plus factor is the multiple screens raised high and the showing of the Six Nations. This is definitely a place to go for those interested. Food and accommodation I know not, but if the kitchen produces food as competently as the cellar does the beer - and the accommodation is as well found as the bar and dining area, I cannot imagine many complaints arising from either department.
