We have been visiting Bristol Marriot Royal Hotel this weekend for my company Christmas party. The hotel is nicely decorated for the season and the whole place looks classy, with nice rooms and beautiful communal areas. We have used the hotel parking and for your information it costs Β£17 for 24h. We paid to include the breakfast and you can find a nice selection for both continental and British breakfast.

For a four star hotel the Marriott does well. No, it's not what I'd call a luxury hotel, but the prices reflect this. So I am giving it five stars in my review for what level of hotel it is. Location is terrific. Close to everything. I walk everywhere and only take a cab to and from the train station. Lots of restaurants close by so you have tons of choices, from fancy to casual and a variety of different cuisines. One potential issue is street noise later at night when alcohol infused folk pass by. But to be fair, it is momentary and has not been an issue over my four night stay. I have a "Royal Junior Suite" which is nice enough and spacious. There's a Nespresso machine and kettle, as well as a mini fridge. Bathroom is shower only and they only leave two sets of towels. But it's ok. Interesting that there's only one bathrobe. Not sure if they knew I am alone. A safe is provided, and located in the closet. BUT if you are shorter you will have a hell of a time finding or seeing anything inside. I am 6 ft and can barely see what's inside when I check. So be aware. Toiletries are standard issue Marriott stuff. Good enough, I guess. Good internet speed. TV with some channels. but I don't really watch it anyway. The room comes with lounge access (in the basement). Pleasant enough, with bfast and afternoon snacks. And coffee and tea throughout the day till about 11. Service is pretty pleasant, though I find their 4 pm check in time annoying and rude. And if you need an umbrella, you rent one for two pounds for two days. Seriously? No, the amount is small, but you really need to nickle and dime your guests like this? That's just rude. If I come to Bristol again, I will likely stay here again. I would love it if there's a five star hotel on Bristol city centre, but barring that, the Marriott is a decent choice.

Great central location. Stayed for 3 nights for my son’s wedding. Room was spacious and clean with 2 comfortable double beds, good shower too! Room gets a lower star as there were no decaf coffee pods in the room and none available at reception. Also we had other rooms booked as we had a wedding group and I was up and down to reception trying to organise a baby cot which we had pre- booked, at 9pm at night this wasn’t acceptable. With one person manning reception there was no response to calls from the room. Charging a premium rate I do expect a premium service for my cash! The inside of the hotel is quiet but rooms facing College Green and Park Street are noisy. I forgot ear plugs. One day there was no room service too! I like my bed made up and fresh milk and mugs.

My nephew and I used this hotel as our base during a trip to Bristol. The location is the best. We had a 2 room suite and it was fantastic. The most comfortable bed and pillows ever. We also had access to the executive lounge, this is a fantastic added extra. Great space with snacks and drinks (including beer and wine at night). The exec lounge also included a full breakfast. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

This hotel was perfect; and will be a chain I will now frequently stay at. I booked the Junior suite for my birthday, was met with lovely reception staff. Though there was an issue with my room, I rang reception and we were immediately moved. Both rooms were spotless. The executive lounge was perfect, with the complimentary wine in the night, and followed with a perfect breakfast in the morning. The location is great, and my partner and I had no problem finding the hotel. The hotel itself was gorgeous, the interior was so beautiful and everything looked clean, and the atmosphere made me feel very welcome. Overall, my expectations were exceeded, and I already plan on making this chain my regular.

Beautiful building in a great location. The decor is outstanding and the staff are keen to give excellent service. The breakfast was 10/10. In terms of the rooms, I've given 4 stars as ome attention to detail needed with tired/worn paint on wooden items, particularly high traffic areas. Bleach spray needed on grout near the shower head. Otherwise, fabulous.

We recently stayed at Marriott Royal Bristol and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist Sylvie made me feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable. The room was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities I needed. The location was perfect and within walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. But what really stood out to me was the exceptional service provided by Sylvie. She were always available to answer any questions I had and provided excellent recommendations for things to do in the area. Their warm and friendly demeanor made me feel like I was staying at a friend's place, rather than a hotel. I highly recommend Marriott and Sylvie to anyone looking for a great place to stay. Thank you for making my trip so memorable and enjoyable.

Have stayed here three times. Five years ago it was fantastic. Six months ago a little disappointing. Tonight not good at all. The reception at the front desk on check in was in the form of disinterest bordering on rude. I had real difficulty hearing anything that was said and when I explained I have some hearing loss no attempt was made to talk a little louder. I received a look of mild annoyance instead. The restaurant prices at the entrance were different to those inside. Price for sirloin steak had risen by Β£6. That’s quite a hike. I decided to leave and bumped into staff ripping out what must have been a very old menu. They though this was amusing instead of downright unprofessional. Room is boiling hot and air con doesn’t work. i have noticed this in many hotels recently. the system looks like it’s working but the chiller is switched off. Room is not as clean as any premier I have stayed at. not dirty but looks like it needs a deep clean. Bed is horrible and sheets are incredibly itchy. Water bottles are tiny. Im not looking forward to breakfast Altogether feels cheap and tacky now. Won’t stay again. Sad as it’s a great location

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Dead easy car parking underneath the hotel. Lovely surroundings and brilliant location. The bed was so comfortable and the pillows were the floofiest I've ever seen; as a firm memory foam girl I did struggle with the pillows, but, I slept well and apparently didn't snore (how rude). Would definitely stay here again.
