Boxing Day 2025. Early afternoon; it's cold outside. First time visiting. Popped in for a cuppa & pastry. Got a very cold & unwelcoming reception from waitress. Pastry with mozzarella filling was stale; the cheese was hard. Waitress did not notice the clear absence of sugar from my table. Had to get some myself from the next table. I will not patronise this local business ever again. I should have followed through with my initial idea: Gail's.

Delicious food at reasonable price and very kind staff. The breakfast we had here felt like a nice touch of freshness compared to other cafés in London where the food served tastes all the same.

I visited this cafe for the 1st time today and was disgusted by the attitude of the staff and the poor quality of food. Firstly, one of the food orders was incorrect, the waitress took the order down correctly but the food was not what we ordered. I had to explain to 2 different waitresses why the food was wrong, I was given dirty looks and lots of huffing before they agreed to provide us with a new baguette with tuna sweetcorn and mayo. It wasn’t a difficult order! I ordered a gluten-free sandwich, and the filling was dry like it had been left out all day. The bread was toasted but stale and I was unable to eat my meal. I complained to the waitress and said I would pay for the 2 other meals but not the gluten-free sandwich as I was not able to eat the food. I thought this was reasonable considering the returned tuna baguette was practically empty. I was then threatened by the waitress with the police being called which is ridiculous as this is not a criminal offence. Customers are legally entitled to refuse to pay their bill if they believe that the food served to them was not of an adequate standard. Which this was not. The cafe wasn’t busy so there was no excuse for the poor service and food. Photos attached.

Had coffee and cake there with my son and daughter. Both coffee and cake selections were delicious. Service was very friendly and so accommodating. My daughter loved her vegan carrot cake so much that I asked if I could order it for her birthday. Everyone at her party commented how delicious it was! One extremely happy customer. Will definitely come here again. Thank you!

I used to swing by every morning pre-pandemic to grab a toasted bagel to eat on the way to work. Really craved going back after years, and decided to sit in for a Sunday brunch. The service was terrible. I hate to be that person and leave bad reviews. The place wasn't even crazy busy, there was a super nice guy making the coffees and serving the counter, the other guy was just a mess. While friendly at first when taking our orders, he started getting increasingly and visibly irritated when the food got to our table and he realised he got the order wrong. Then later on we added more coffees and a cake, and we had to wait for more than 10minutes for the cake to be served, after we had already finished our second round of coffees. The cake was literally there on the plate, waiting to be served. We got up and offered to take it to the table ourselves. Before heading off, I wanted to have a glass of tap water, but there was none on hand for customers to help themselves, so I asked to have some. The guy looked at me very annoyed and said "yes, but you have to give me a minute". Obviously, more time passed, I asked again going straight to the counter and he shook his head and he said "you have to wait, I can't now". So we decided to pay and leave. I would go back for takeaway and because the place is very cute, especially the garden, but I was quite bruised with the experience

Great. Music is unobtrusive, nice atmosphere, spacious. Food is nice, good quality without being too expensive. Nice staff and dog friendly. Toilets fairly small, but clean and neat. Been here a few times, consistently good. Still good. The only criticism I have is that there are some items which appear to say they come with a side salad, but they don't. Check if you're ordering and to the management I say, please clarify this on the menu. Really tiny lattes...

This is one of the cafe's I have not visited I am sorry to say, we only had a couple of coffees and I was very impressed, the staff were excellent, very friendly, and the coffees were a bit cheaper than some other cafe's. I did not try the food but I will be back Went back for a breakfast, it was very good

I can’t believe I’ve lived just off Church St for over 4 years and I’ve only just started going to this place! It’s the best cafe around by far! Absolutely delicious pastries, freshly cooked, first thing and the jacket potatoes are yummy! Brilliant value for money. The staff are super friendly and they are always happy to see me and my son!
