Been hereca few tines for my very sick wife's prescriptions. They are not fit for purpose. Prescriptions are never ready. Parking is impossible. So waiting is expensive if you can find a space. I've had to wait 30 mins to make a prescription up on both visits. They should've been ready both times.
The staff were friendly and helpful; and appeared to be working extremely hard for customers. However, the general organisation was not particularly good. The queue ticket machine was out of order and customers arriving to present prescriptions were unclear where to wait amongst the milling crowd. Better signage would have improved the situation. It was surprising that patient prescriptions were not delivered to the pharmacy electronically, avoiding the need to queue in long lines twice; especially as hospital prescriptions cannot be fulfilled at any other pharmacy. Additional staffing might alleviate waits of more than an hour.
This is truly the worst pharmacy I ever had the unfortunate experience of using. Two long queues stretch right down the corridor most of the time. If you end up the wrong queue, you get sent to the back. Even if your doctor sends a prescription electronically, unlike in every other pharmacy, they will not prepare it until you attend and take a ticket and wait in over 2 hours. There's supposed to be a board which shows when prescriptions are ready for collection. It wasn't working when I was there, so there were loads of people in the collect queue whose prescriptions were not ready. Normally the pharmacist will give you advice about how and when to take medication, especially for powerful meds with potential side effects. Not here - just a quick check of your name, DOB and address. The organisation of completed prescriptions is complete chaos. No evidence of any system. Staff just trawl through a pile of completed prescriptions which don't appear to filed in any particular order. It is scarily bad, causes massive delays and must increase the risks of mistakes being made and patients being given the wrong medication. The most annoying thing is watching people who come in to buy items from the retail counter getting served straight away. Staff will actually stop working on a prescription to serve a customer. The only way I can describe the floors and furniture is insanitary. Dressings and all kinds of dirt on the floor. See photos. Clearly there is no cleaning going on. This must be a serious health risk. Why are patients having to put up with these terrible conditions? I think the time has come for Hospital management to insist that Boots improve their practice or give the contract to another Pharmacy.
Woefully slow, regular queues of around 20 people and very poor signage. I queued fir 20 minutes to be redirected to another queue. Signs are only visible if you approach from the ward side not the main entrance. Turnover incredibly slow with just 3 seats if there are elderly or I'll patients waiting. Update, it has been an hour since I received my numbered ticket and my prescription is now ready so I am back in a queue of 11 people, will take roughly 30 more minutes. If you paid for parking before visiting this pharmacy, be afraid....
Gave partial prescription on the basis that I would be contacted regarding collecting the remainder. No call from them as promised and impossible to get hold of by phone. Very unimpressed, particularly given my current health.
Truly useless in every way. I would rather collect my meds from the 7th circle of Hell than go here again. Sadly due to BRI restrictions I have to collect them from here every month. Queues out the door, they have lost my medication on two occasions and had to reorder it and generally rude. Don't have your meds sent here if you have any alternative.
