Absolutely amazing tackle shop had an issue withy advanta bivvy, they replaced it same day, no badgering just straight and easy. gave some great advice and a good chat!!
I'll start with the good points. Christian and the girl at Bristol branch. Both very helpful and really have both gone the extra mile to explain and show products. The girl set up 5 or 6 bivvies for me! The bad points...online ordering. When ordering more than one item the picking and packing doesn't always work. I ordered a few bits previously and waited nearly 3 months for my order to ALL turn up. When I asked about the missing items I was told "we can't reach them in the warehouse". Which meant they either were on a shelf until the end of time, or the advisor thought up the poorest excuse they could. I've ordered a solar SP c tech bed, SP c tech sofa chair and solar heat mat. This time only the chair is marked as picked and packed, the advisor said the other items have been too, but the email and account say otherwise. We will see how this plays out. But after my last experience I'm not too hopeful I'll get any of it this week.
As someone who’s new to fishing, I often feel a bit overwhelmed when I walk into a tackle shop – there’s just so much to choose from! Angling Direct in Bristol is incredibly well-stocked, with a wide range of brands and everything you could possibly need: tackle, clothing, camping gear, and of course, an amazing selection of baits. But what really makes this shop stand out is Christian. He’s like a walking fishing encyclopedia! I had some questions about molasses I’d recently bought, and he not only explained everything clearly but also took the time to answer all my other newbie questions. His knowledge, patience, and friendliness make such a difference and always make me feel welcome. Thanks again, Christian – you’ve made my fishing journey a whole lot easier and way more enjoyable!
Amazing customer service by Chrischen. He was absolutely fabulous in explaining and setting up a rod for us, so polite and so welcoming. And extremely reassuring for all of us. So so helpful!!! Definitely deserves a pay rise

Boy in a sweet shop needed 4 pairs of eyes to rake it all in. Plenty if choice/variety and at great prices reccomend to all fishermen oops not PC fisher people. In all sincerity nice helpful staff and great service, thanks guys see you soon. G

Great shop. My first visit to AD as I usually order online. I was visiting Bristol so popped in. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. I spoke to Steve and he really gave me his time and experience.
If you want fishing any equipment from rods and tackle right through to clothing and bivvies this is the place to come. The guys that work here are friendly, helpful and nothing is to much trouble. All the guys are anglers and they from carp anglers to match anglers and are very knowledgeable. I don't shop don't go anywhere else for my tackle and gear.
A friend recommended AD to me. I've been living in S.Wales for ten years and I recently decided to start fishing again. I was going to support the local fishing shop but my mate steered me toward AD instead. So glad he did! My employer gives me a £200 "Well Being" bonus every year so I decided to put it towards a brand new fishing kit, all in one go, get everything I need. I was quite overwhelmed by the size of the Bristol store upon entering, and the massive amount of stock on offer. It's all a bit different to the last time I visited a tackle shop in the mid noughties. That's where Chris rescued me. I told him what I was looking for, my budget and requirements. He then spent about 90mins guiding me through options, updating me on products and having a laugh too. He recommended a rod and reel to cover my requirements, (mainly predator), traces, rigs floats, lures, landing net etc etc..... I left totally satisfied with everything I needed. Chris never tried to make me overspend or buy anything that I didn't need just for the sake of a bigger sale. I was prepared to go quite a bit over budget as my employer was contributing £200. But the total bill only came to £264. Result. I went home, tackled up and went to the Monmouth and Brecon canal. Within 30mins I had four pike between 6 and 10lbs. Absolutely superb service from Chris, and Andy in the final stages. I'll be back, and I'll be ordering bits and pieces as I go along. Thanks guys! Absolute 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ service! ❤
