I'd always admired street photography but didn't know where or how to start. Deep down I know that's where the best wedding photographers need to cut their teeth. Thank you Kevin for teaching me how to 'see' again and reigniting my passion for photography.
I had a fantastic time at Kevin Mullins’ street photography workshop. The whole day was fun, relaxed, and inspiring from start to finish. Kevin is a brilliant teacher. Approachable, insightful, and generous with his knowledge. I really appreciated the amount of 1:1 time he gave each of us, which made the experience feel personal and tailored. This year I attended two busy but different city workshops run by Kevin — the one day monochrome street photography workshop in the West End of London and a monochrome and colour one in Bath. Listening to Kevin's relaxed and knowledgeable explanations and tips on how to work respectfully and discreetly on the streets helped me overcome my anxieties about photographing in public. Giving us mini-projects on composition, zone focusing, light and shadow, colour (where relevant) and building a story to try for 20 minutes at a time kept everything manageable. Kevin's patience and willingness to help us individually within the small group of half a dozen certainly increased my own confidence on the streets. We had great fun in both workshops and I have already seen an improvement in my efforts — working closer to the action, spacing the elements, and filtering out clutter for a start!
A really great Street Photography workshop with Kevin in Oxford this week. A very well structured day with lots of guidance at hand all the time but with no pressure. I learned a lot, feel I have more confidence and ideas and it was great fun! Would definitely recommend whatever your experience. Thank you Kevin - first class!
I really enjoyed Kevin's workshop. Whilst it was structured, it was was relaxed, not regimented and he fielded questions throughout. Kevin covered a range of photographic and commercial topics and was really open and helpful about the way his business had evolved over time. He also provided lots of useful info after the event. I picked up loads during the day, it was really motivational and provided lots of food for thought. A highly recommended from me.
I had the pleasure of a superb day of photography and learning in a fun and light hearted group led brilliantly by Kevin. He put us all at ease and clearly designed the day for us to get the most out of practical exercises we were set. Nothing was too much trouble, with Kevin helping us all with camera settings and helpful advice. Not only is Kevin a renowned expert in his field, but he takes great care in creating an easy-going, friendly atmosphere in which to learn and discuss. I really appreciated that I felt totally at ease about contributing, asking any questions I needed to and being listened to - not always the case elsewhere. I attended the One Day Wedding Photojournalism Workshop, because I admire Kevin's work and share the same ethos in shooting style. Kevin is entirely open, honest and insightful about the documentary style of shooting as well as the wider industry. He really shared a lot of incredibly useful information with us about practical and stylistic approaches to photography, as well as sharing the details of how he runs his business, wins new work, and efficiency with post-production.
