   Went here as I was in Leicester for the December JLPT and had come to Leicester the day before the test, hadn't made a reservation and the place was rammed but the staff kindly squeezed me in anyways which was very kind of them! (sorry to the people who had to wait a few minutes after me) Had the sushi/sashimi mix box and the tuna was probably the best I've ever had in the UK! Recommended, though maybe make a reservation if you're gonna go here around 7PM as it's a popular spot!

   On a freezing Thursday evening neither of us could be bothered to cook and my princess had a craving for Sushi. Throughout her PhD my partner dined in this restaurant many a time and had nothing but good things to say about the food. I’m not a fan of uncooked stuff (which is what I believed Sushi to be; raw fish) but the food was fantastic. We opted for some dumpling things (don’t ask me to spell it) with chicken, fried prawn sushi things and a noodle dish with beef and black bean sauce. Oh my god! Everything was delicious. The dumpling things felt a bit slimy in the mouth, but once you are over that, it tasted glorious. The beef noodle and black bean sauce things were the best I’ve tasted. I’m not just saying that because I was hungry lol. The sushi and the dumplings didn’t come with anything and were almost starters, but with all three together, it was more than enough for the two of us. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting a decent Japanese experience. It is compact and bijou, as the French say, but it is great for parties of 2-4.

   ​This spot is a definite must-go! ​Immediately welcoming, this cozy gem boasts a lovely atmosphere and charming decor. The staff were a standout – exceptionally welcoming, kind, and attentive. As first-timers, their recommendations were invaluable and truly enhanced our meal. ​Every dish was an explosion of flavor. We were utterly satisfied, yet the incredible taste kept us reaching for more! ​Our order included two different sushi rolls, both a perfect 10/10. The vegetable gyoza were equally flavorful and a resounding 10/10. The kimchi was perfectly fermented with ideal saltiness. The Chicken Teriyaki Hirata Bun was a revelation: an airy, fluffy bun cradling wonderfully marinated chicken – truly out of this world. Our noodle dish was also superbly seasoned. ​Service was both swift and genuinely friendly. Next time, I'm arriving on an empty stomach to fully indulge in everything this fantastic spot has to offer!

   Had a good experience at Mitsuki — the food was very good and the sushi, in particular, was fresh and well-prepared. It’s a small, cosy spot, and it can get quite busy, so I’d definitely recommend booking ahead if you’re going during peak times. The service was decent, though the staff seemed a bit distant or low in energy. That said, they were attentive when it came to taking orders and serving food, so no complaints there. Overall, a solid place for good Japanese food in a relaxed setting. Would happily return!

   Decided to try sushi at Mitsuki and the food itself was actually nice. However, the service was disappointing - had Miso soup spilled on me at the end of my meal, and rather than immediately offering to compensate for the mishap, I had to ask for money off the bill myself. When accidents like this happen, good restaurants typically address it proactively as a courtesy. The food quality was there, but the customer service levels need ALOT of work. I was left feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed. Having to advocate for myself made the situation even worse. Happy to say I will not be returning again.

   Great Japanese food with loads of delicious veggie options. We devoured everything to the last grain of rice. We'll definitely be back to try more of the dishes! Edit: have been back, and it was even better the second time! The Laksa curry was sensational.

   A very lovely place to go out for dinner! Food was absolutely delicious! The staff are kind and friendly and make you feel like you're in their kitchen, not in a restaurant. It was a great experience and I'm planning another dinner there. They also do take out but you have to collect.
